Verwacht een beetje bruin café. Ze hebben wat tapas hapjes, niet echt groenten. Gewoon lekker en rock sfeertje. Muziek was afwisselend rock, met nadruk op rock. Om te eten vond ik de muziek vrij hard staan.

One of the problems of eating vegan in Spain is that you sometimes lose the essential Spanish-ness of cheap, friendly tapas bars. But this is exactly what El Rastrel feels like. We visited five times over the course of a week in Salamanca. We sat at the bar, drank beers, and talked with the friendly bartenders about everything from country music to linguistics. Of course, we filled ourselves with tapas: empanadas, small burritos, mini-burgers, stewed seitan, chocolate cake. Each time we returned, it felt more like home, which I attribute to the warmth and welcome of bartenders Alba and Irene. Even though it's just a 10-minute walk from Plaza Mayor, the location feels neighborhoody and the clientele (including families with kids) local.

Es un bar con tapas veganas muy baratas, sirven cervezas artesanas, vino refrescos... El ambiente es muy acogedor, hay cuadros a la venta en las paredes y un montón de libros. Recomendable!

Una tasca vegana con muy buen ambiente donde comer tapas a muy buen precio (cuando yo fui tenían croquetas, papas bravas, hamburguesa de soja, empanadas, gazpacho y bizcocho de limón). El local está lleno de carteles y pegatinas antiespecistas antifas etc lo cual es un plus y da muy buen rollo para tomarte una cerve y picar algo. Viviendo en Madrid echo en falta un local así en mi ciudad, así que si vuelvo a Salamanca repetiré seguro😄

El bar vegano más entrañable de Salamanca. Buena comida, ambiente inmejorable, buena música e incluso exposiciones de artistas. La camarera es muy agradable y simpática. Hay juegos, libros y numerosos rincones donde disfrutar en compañía de los pinchos veganos, cada cual con su encanto.

We loved this place. Stopped in as we were passing through Salamanca. Ordered one of each tapa, one slice of cake, and two tinto de viranos. Filled up two people for less that 11€! The man working was super friendly, the food was tasty, the bar itself had lots of cool stickers (feminist, anti-fascist, etc). Would highly recommend stopping by!

Valeu a pena ir até lá. Gostamos da pizza e do sanduíche de tofu, que delícia! O bolo de chocolate com xarope de morangos também estava muito bom. Recomendo!

Great place - Edit
I walked here once and found it closed. I went back one night and I am glad I did. The man behind the bar said they only open at 7pm. I ordered food to eat there but also a couple of things for takeout. He made it work without having takeout containers because it is not part of the culture. A great place.

We ordered everything to start with and ended up going for a second burger each. Aioli was outstanding! Also liked the tinto verano very much. Everything reasonably priced between 1,20€ and 1,40€ I believe.

What a gem!!! - Edit
We loved this cafe/bar. Low keyed, casual tapas with a great chilled vibe, really good music in the background, great staff, and all in an eclectic setting. Plus such reasonable prices! Oh, and it's dog friendly too! Kudos to whoever sets the scene for this place, because I don't think a bar/cafe can get it more right than this! It's so homely and comfortable.

It's only a few 100m from the main square, and well worth the visit.
