A few vegan options - Edit
Really cute food court style spot. Lots of different vendors. A few have vegan options. Wish there were more. Got a focaccia pizza after asking questions to confirm it was fully vegan

A few vegan options - Edit
This place was right across from our hotel so we gave it a try! My husband and son both had a tofu poke bowl from one place, and my daughter and I had the vegetarian arepas (made vegan with no cheese) from another. My husband and son thought the tofu poke bowl was just fine, lots of tofu and toppings to choose from but was not really their thing. My daughter and I love the arepas! The only downside is that it took about 20 minutes for them to make one, and when we realised we needed another one, we had to wait another 15 - 20 minutes. There were no vegan options on the menu of the crepe place, they must have taken them off. The place itself is fun - outdoor, with lots of tables and string lights and even some games to play like giant Jenga. I'd recommend it just for the arepas!

I liked the typical Costa Rican food - Edit
I liked the typical Costa Rican food- I like the rice and beans! I’m not sure what else I would eat at El Mercadito, but Costa Rican food is what I most want to eat when I visit anyway.
Read moreThe space is large- a great option especially for a group with eaters who like different things.
I checked the crepe and waffle place, but the menu didn’t look like the pictures I saw on happy cow. No mention of vegan food.
The “vegan” burger comes on a brioche bun, so I really can’t imagine the bun actually vegan.

Options Galore! - Edit
There are lots of options and ways to customize food - the guacamole at the taco spot is mid, but the vegetarian arepa was amazing, and would be easy to customize as vegan (subtract the cheese!). Lots of other food looked amazing, but we have small appetites.

Lots of options - Edit
Lots of options at multiple food stalls. Everything we tried was delicious- arepas, patacon (vegetarian, not vegan) and the traditional Costa Rican place.

Upscale food court with multiple vegan options - Edit
Great for families who may not always agree on what to have for dinner. Multiple options for gluten free and vegan diets as well. We sampled veggie arepas, high protein veggie burgers, tofu poke bowls and even vegan/gf crepes with strawberries and bananas.
