Das Tagesgericht war vegan , es gab eine vegetarische Alternative.
Das Tages Menü ist preiswert, beinhaltet eine Suppe ein Hauptgericht sowie ein Getränk.
Leckere Bowles, auch zum mitnehmen, werden angeboten.
Glutenfreie Gerichte werden ausgewiesen.

Wenn man sich vegetarisch ernährt, ist das ein total super Restaurant. Für Veganer, eher schwierig. Klar, es ist mein Problem, wenn ich kein spanisch spreche..... wegen der Speisekarte. Es wäre super hilfreich, wenn vegane Optionen ausgezeichnet wären. Letztendlich war es lecker, aber für einen Hot Dog sehr gesund, was ja nicht schlecht ist. Für Vegetarier zu empfehlen.

There are lots of vegan options available, I had the onion rings, spring rolls and the vegan burger. I found that the onion rings were a little raw inside and the burger's meat was really soft and it was small for the price. However the spring roll was very tasty and I also had the exotic cocktail which was really yummy.

El Limon is one of the best restaurant options in Puerto de la Cruz for vegan and vegetarian food. It's located in pedestrian zone of the old town and they have an inside and outdoor area a cute interior design. I ate here several times and enjoyed my food every time. The menu is fully vegetarian and you can see on the menue if the dishes contain milk, eggs or allergens. Besides classical starters like papas fritas (french fries), potato wedges, onion rings and spring roles they serve sandwiches, burgers, as well as some healthy food choices, like soups, salads, brown rice or quinoa with vegetables and two vegan bowls. We had the quinoa dish as well as a big salad with mushrooms and grilled veggies and two vegan bowls, one with chickpeas, tofu, rocket salad and vegetables, and the the other one with white beans, red beet, avocado and tempeh and leek. The food was delicious. I wish there would be more vegan options on the menu. We did not ask, if it was possible to veganise some of the vegetarian dishes. Still, there was enough vegan options to try every time we went to El Limon.

Read moreI ordered the seitan fillets, spinach tartlets and salad with antioxidant freshly squeezed juice. I found the meal nice enough but the portion size was small and I felt it was missing something like would have been nice to have some rice or quineo and some gravy or beans with. The meal was not balanced nutritionally and filling enough. The juice was refreshing. The presentation of the food needs work on to make it look more appetising.
I liked that they had an English menu, but I struggled to read the menu as i had to search for the vegan options. I get flustered with so much info, that my friend made a suggestion for me and I went with it. I prefer a separate vegan menu that makes it easier for me to select.
They have indoor seating as well as out but the lighting is poor out when it gets dark so we moved inside.

Read moreLittle had changed at El Limon since our visit a year ago apart from the prices finally increasing during this stay. However, there were now two new vegan restaurants in town to try so El Limon became our fall back option only. It would be lovely to see this long standing restaurant move a little with the times, perhaps reducing its large but not very varied menu and introducing more exciting flavours to some of its dishes.
We have been visiting Puerto de la Cruz on and off for over 15 years and El Limon was where we ate on our first visit and was still a regular dining option on our latest visit (Dec 21). Little has changed aver the years - not the décor or the menu and possibly not even the prices. It is generally reliable and inexpensive but not very exciting food. However, its longevity (since the 1990s) suggests it has found a winning formula and certainly it has outlived all the other vegetarian and vegan restaurants there have been in the town over the years. One of the best value options is the 'menu del dia' which comes in two sizes - approx 10.70/7.50 euros - and comprises soup, main course, dessert and fresh smoothie. The soup and juice tend to remain the same but the main course and dessert vary daily. They don't advertise the daily choices but we were happy to be surprised each time. Vegans would need to check the options before ordering.

Food not special at all. I had the menu vegano. Seitan bocadillo was wet and soggy. The male staff member who served me was unfriendly and barely spoke to me. Not clear what’s vegan unless you check the allergens. There is much better vegan food in Puerto de la Cruz.
