El Karmem Yoga Cafe

I wasn't feeling that hungry but wanted to check out the restaurant out of curiosity. I was supposed to just pop in for a quick drink but stayed for about 3 hours, drinking wine and talking to the owner (who speaks English). She's a very warm, friendly person and that evening was just what I needed after being in Malaga for a week by myself. I'll definitely revisit if I'm ever back in the city. Lola (the owner) runs the restaurant and shop on her own. The environment is very cosy and comfortable and the food is amazing. Lola makes you feel right at home as if you were visiting a close friend or relative. I recommend this place to anyone visiting Málaga as it is now one of my favorite places to eat and support a hardworking, caring person that makes delicious food!

Es un restaurante pequeñito y acogedor y tranquilo. Es como adentrarse en la casita de una andaluza vegana. Los platos son veganos y están muy bien elaborados, con combinaciones innovadoras, mayormente elaborados con productos ecológicos y con un sabor excelente. La medida de las raciones es adecuada. Además, de restaurante ofrece productos ecológicos de los cuales recomiendo el surtido de tabletas de chocolate que es su especialidad. El trato es más que deseable, muy atentos y amables.

Dining here felt like having a lovely home-cooked meal at a friend's place. Lola is very friendly and passionate about vegan food in a city where vegan options are scarce. She runs the cafe/shop by herself and works almost every day of the year. Please go support her and be inspired!

El Karmem Yoga Cafe is very closely located to Malaga Centro on the C-1 line, all within easy walking of any place in the centre of the city. It is a down-to-earth cafe run by the lovely, social Lola, who I enjoyed visiting during and after my meal. I had the three-course menu of the day, which was very filling and tasty. I was impressed by Lola's intuitive cooking abilities, the presentation of the food, and the clean taste. Highly recommended and worth supporting!

This is such a lovely place with food prepared by Lola. She works alone and all the food is delicious. I had the hummus tapas after reading someone's else's review about it on here and all 3 hummus dishes were amazing! I told her I had a cold and she made a digestive tea with oregano and ginger added in for me 😊😊😊
She's absolutely lovely and loves a chat too. A must for any vegan in Malaga! Please go and support her ☺

Hurry up and go to Lola's place. She makes the most delicious food and is just the sweetest human being you will meet.
You can either get the "menu del dia" that includes a starter, main meal and coffee or tea, or you can order from the card.
If you're a yogi she offers yoga classes as well for both beginners and more advanced students.
If you sign up for a yoga class you get the lunch menu for free. Really good value for money!
I would stay in Malaga just to eat more of Lola's delicious food!

We were visiting Malaga and decided to go to this beautiful little place. We were greeted with such a positive spirit and we were told her amazing story that really made you reflect on life. She is very passionate about her cooking and it clearly showed. She is willing adjust anything for your preference and she also told us she does catering for people all around the world. It would be very suiting for a date or even a party for 30 people. It was a beautiful little restaurant/store and she really made you feel at home. The food was absolutely outstanding and if you are ever visiting Malaga this resturant is a must.

I was going to stay a day in Malaga and stumbled across this place. We decided to try it and all I can say is that it was an amazing experience. The owner is so friendly and the food was very good. If you ever visit Malaga you need to go here, vegan or not. You feel really inspired after talking to this woman and it's really interesting to hear her story.

I found it difficult to find good Vegan/Veg food in Málaga, but El Karmem was delicious! I had the 3 Tapas (which also came with bread and a small desert, so let's call it 5 Tapas. I've had hummus in 4 different continents, but the hummus here might have been the best yet. The only con about this place was that it is a bit expensive for what you get. That being said, the delicious food and wonderful atmosphere more than made up for it.

There is a nice, down to earth vibe that is created by the owner (who is also the sole cook, waitress and cleaner). Although she was busy, she still made a point of asking me about my travels and sharing about some of her own. Even though she speaks very good English, she let me practice my (less than par) Spanish and we had some good conversation.

She works 7 days a week all by herself just to keep this place afloat, so if you're looking for some good vegan food in Málaga this is the place to go!

The best restaurant/Cafe I was at, on my trip through Andalusia. Nice and clean place. Very kind service, she prepares and cooks the meals with passion, creativity and much care. The food was delicious. We had hummus, mango and vegan burger (not sure but I think the burger was mainly made of chickpeas, very nice though). If I ever stop by in Malaga, I will definitely visit "El Karmem Yoga Cafe" again. I recommend it highly!

Set on a quiet peaceful  side street in Malaga, it seems to be run single handedly by a local lady with a passion for healthy eating, yoga and vegan food. She speaks excellent English so you won't have a problem communicating if you don't speak Spanish. The food is all organic and mostly from her own garden. It was one of the only 100% vegan Places I came across in Malaga so was refreshing to find somewhere that we didn't have to constantly ask what was in everything. I highly recommend this place. The food is delicious. There is a choice of either raw of cooked meals, so it was nice to have a combination of the two. This was great, as I like many other vegans, I'm not a huge fan of totally raw vegan. They also sell hand made soap, black garlic, and incense. I will definitely visit again if I go back to Malaga in the future. 

I really recommend this place. The food is delicious, directly from the owner's garden to your plate, served with a lot of love. Carmen (which I believe is the name of the owner) is a fantastic, caring person who will make you feel very welcome and will pay great attention to your experience in her cafe. If I ever return to Malaga, there's no doubt I will go back. Thank you!!

People who are into healthy and organic food this is the place to be. She puts a lot of love in her foods. And she is a great host.

Me and my girlfriend visited Malaga during our 10 days in Spain (we only just returned) and I've had it on my mind ever since we visited El Karmen to leave a review once i'm back home.

We looked on Happy Cow to see vegan restaurants in the area and we stumbled upon El Karmen.
We were very kindly greeted and welcomed by the store owner who was very willing to make any menu adjustments to cater our preferred tastes, etc.
We ordered Tapas for 9 euros, which we were able to comfortably share. The kind owner also gave us extra carrots and bread to dip into humous (which was very delicious!!)
While we were eating, she decided to sit with us which was a very new experience but was one which i shall never forget.
My girlfriend and I were astonished at how calm and contained the store owner was. She was able to comfortably tell us her plans for the future of the store as well as her personal development (which was truly inspirational). She was very into meditation and self-care, which are elements I have always aimed to implement myself and so she was more than willing to give us a little lesson on meditation right after we had finished eating.
I cannot emphasise how enlightening it truly was.

If me and my girlfriend ever return to Spain, El Karmen is definitely on our TO-DO list.

Seriously, if you get the chance to visit El Karmen in Malaga; DO IT. Seriously.

es un sitio muy chiquito con mucho encanto. La dueña es muy amable y la comida está riquísima. No hay mucha variedad de platos. Pedimos tapas y probamos practicamente todo lo que había. Buenísimo todo. El hummus el mejor que he probado hasta la fecha :-)

This is a magical place, I have been here several times, it just attracts me back with its harmonic atmosphere and delicious, nutritious food.
The owner puts her heart into preparation of the food and she does great research on healthy ingredients.
There are always new choices, and you can even design your own smoothie or juice if she stores the ingredients.
The cakes are yummy and she does a calming digestive tea which is great to finish your meal with.
There is always soup, either raw or cooked.
If you eat fully raw you can enjoy her beautiful salads with gazpacho or other raw soup and there is occasionally some raw cake.
I always feel well after each meal, it is a brilliant detox.
The owner speaks very good English, and always happy to design your meal for individual taste.

Beautiful little restaurant with great meal options. We had a fresh salad with bread, rice balls with ratatouille, a smoothie, some green tea and a slice of cake! Very light and energising!

I went here for lunch before catching a flight from Málaga, and I was supersuper happy with everything. The food is simply delicious: I couldn't decide what to get, so the owner created a giant mixed plate for me. It had lentil burger, homemade hummus, tapenade, green salad, ratatouille with rice, lentil stew with bulgur, fresh warm bread and olives. YUM. :) i also got a homemade herbal tea for dessert, and some delicious banana bread. Everything was super tasty. Plus, the owner is absolutely friendly, too. All in all, this is a very special place and I highly recommend you go there if you're in Málaga. :)

A lovely cafe with a sense of calm and tranquility that is felt as soon as you enter. The owner is warm, welcoming, speaks English and prepared us some delicious and tasty food. The price was fair for the quality of the food and although she didn't have too much produce in stock, being the end of the week, the food she made us was creative and very tasty.

Delicious food. The ingredients are sourced with care and our host chatted with us throughout the meal about each dish. Carrot cake with clove should be sampled if it is available on the day, I cannot guarantee you will like it as the flavour is very bold but the experience is quite unique!

El Karmem is a charming and beautiful cafe in a quiet street. Everything I tried from the menu was wonderful and tasty and prepared with love. The different infusions are a great company to the deliciouses cakes. I can highly recommend this place if you want to eat healthy in Malaga in a relaxing atmosphere.

Loving atmosphere and truly nutritious food with a taste of life force and love. We were very well recieved and really enjoyed the food, really good to see someone pushing this kind of business forward, as it is really needed in todays world, for the planet and all life.
Also great prices for what you get.
