I have tried a good amount of their plates and they are good, my favorite is the animal lovers pizza as it has vegan steak, vegan chorizo & vegan coconut bacon. The "cocopao" soup is delicious. Nice restaurant. We ordered the chili which was good. The nachos were alright. Kid chick’n tenders were dry. The bleu cheez burger was very dry as well. The restaurant has a lot of potential. I didn’t like the chocolate brownie I ordered. My husband did love his waffles and ice cream.

I went here a while ago and the food was spectacular. I had the cocopao soup, which had a great mix of flavors including cilantro. It was one of the best soups I ever had. Then the beetball marinara. The beet balls were so good and smoky. It was one of the best things I ever ate. Incredible flavors. The people who run this place deserve awards.

We had the soup and the BBQ Wings. Both were delicious and we topped it off with a brownie topped with ice cream for $9 (kind of high). Good service; prices were moderate to high ; the menu had some English translations and the waitress also translated the rest for us. We’ll come back. The burgers and pasta dishes looked good, but we weren’t that hungry. They also had a bunch beers on tap. The place was decorated nicely and clean. We were told that things were made to order and to expect a wait, but our food came quickly. The waitress said that they were into sourcing food locally. Accepted cash, PayPal and Ath Móvil

Great brunch, lunch, and dinner! - Edit
We keep coming back, and for good reason. I haven't tried anything on the menu yet I haven't loved. The burger, tacos, boneless wings, and burritos were all very good. Really loved the omlett and tortillas and toast for breakfast. Awesome beer selection.

Favorite vegan spot in PR - Edit
Everything was delicious and so many awesome local beers. They have kombucha and a bunch of fresh juices too. Started with their cauliflower wings which are huge and crispy. The sauce was unique too. It reminded me of marinara but so good. The pizza was delicious with a thin crust. The ‘cheese’ sauce was good but wish they were more generous with it. Finished things off with the cashew cheesecake which was my first time and they did a great job. Texture and flavor are so similar. Definitely go here.

Fantastic Plant-Based Vegan Restaurant! - Edit
I cannot say enough about El Grifo. From the eclectic atmosphere to the amazing staff this place served my family some of the best vegan food we have had. Our servers name was Jose and he took the time to explain El Grifo’s background and all the items on the menu. He made sure our daughter didn’t receive any food with cashews in them since she is highly allergic. He explained where they get all their fresh, farm to table food. There were so many options it was hard to choose. I wish we had more time to go back for their brunch. The food came out displayed beautifully and tasted even better.

Great Atmosphere, Good Food - Edit
My husband and I traveled to Caguas specifically to visit El Grifo. The atmosphere is great at night: dim lighting, nice decor, and uber friendly staff. The food was good! We ordered the buffalo cauliflower bites they weren’t as spicy as I would have liked and tasted like marinara sauce as opposed to buffalo sauce. The pizza and burger were both really good but again, that marinara taste lingered in surprising places. The beer selection was awesome and the staff helped us decide what to eat. I would definitely recommend if you’re in the area.

This is by far the best vegan restaurant in PR (I've visit them almost all). Good quality ingredients, very creative plates, unique taste. Great services. Beer are ridiculously pricey, 7, 10, 11 dollars, is ridiculous.

3rd time's a charm? - Edit
Edit 6/14/17: Gave it another try and was very glad that I did. The restaurant was almost empty so it was perfect. This time around I tried out the "vegan loaf" the flavors and presentation was phenomenal - highly recommended. For dessert tried out a grain based chocolate cake which also tasted delicious. My suggestion is that you go during less busier hours if you want to try out the food, if you're going for beer, any time is a good time. Bumped up the rating to 4 stars from 2.
Read moreThe first time I went to El Grifo I arrived around 8:30PM and they refused to serve me because they had closed the kitchen, I found them through Facebook which said they closed at 11PM, so I was a bit confused. It was a drive for me so I was a bit disappointed but I wanted to give the restaurant a try so a few weeks later I came back. From ordering we waited almost 1 and 30 mins for the food to come to the table. The restaurant was full but still a ridiculous amount to wait, and more for just a simple sandwich. When the sandwich came the bread was stale, completely inedible - the "tuno" was though, and was pretty tasty. I obviously didn't end up eating it and the server was a bit apologetic and offered if I wanted something else - I didn't want to wait another hour so I refused. When the bill came she said that they had removed the sandwich so I appreciated that. They did acknowledge their mistake and invited me to come back and try it another day. Hopefully I'll give it a try again someday.

We came in when the kitchen had already closed but the owner kindly let us order some food for our hungry stomachs. Really amazing food with fresh ingredients and interesting flavors. Everything was filling and satisfying. We are definitely coming back here.
