Afternoon Tea- Vegan and Gluten Free!

I took my mom here for afternoon tea for her birthday and we really enjoyed it. It’s a lovely, small hotel with a lot of friendly staff, gorgeous garden/grounds and view of the ocean. For daily afternoon tea, the menu is fixed, and you can choose either the regular/SAD (non-veg gluten) option or the vegan menu which is also gluten free. First is a course of scones with vegan butter and jam, and little veggie sandwich bites featuring cucumber, tofu, and other veggies, on a two tiered tray, and second sweet pastries and cookies. All of the food was nice, a beautiful presentation and a lot of different things to try. We had plenty to eat and brought most of the desserts home with us. We especially liked the bell pepper sandwich bites and loved chocolate covered strawberries with edible gold !

I’m looking forward to bringing my husband to experience a vegan dinner when we have a special occasion.

Excellent salad and nice view

I ate here as part of an interview process and was pleased to be able to order a healthy, filling, and delicious salad with grilled tofu. I also added avocado. I got the Asian salad but requested different dressing after learning that the accompanying dressing was not vegan.

That said, there are not a ton of vegan options. It could make a nice lunch though given you can have a tasty salad with a fantastic view of SB and the ocean.

Update (30 Nov 2022):
They have a handful of vegetarian/vegan options. Two salads can be made vegan without the cheese, and there was ramen (sub the noodles for vegan ones) and a noodle dish as well. The salads were nice and served with really good rolls. Just state that you're vegan - the staff was well informed about what was and wasn't vegan.
