This place is a must now that I’ve been here. Last three trips to LA, I have made it here. The current trip was on the bus. So worth it!! The chicharron keeps me coming back.

Worth the wait - Edit
The tacos al pastor, nachos and burrito bowl are so good, they could fool any meat lover. Prices are reasonable and portions are generous. I was happy to find pozole on their specials. It’s refrigerated so I’m warming it up to enjoy for breakfast tomorrow. The flan is a great way to finish off a wonderful meal.

Feeding my craving for tacos! - Edit
I had been missing tacos so much! Their asada and al pastor are to die for! A non-vegan wouldn’t notice the difference! Highly recommend you try their salsas, the mango habanero is my favorite! Also, they have Mexican coke and really delicious aguas.

You will have an amazing meal. Stand in love to order and depending on how many people are in line you might have to wait outside but they are fast. The food is delicious. When I went a couple weeks ago there was still no inside seating due to COVID.

How is this Vegan?!? - Edit
Finally got to try this place after I’ve been wanting to go for a while. All I can say is wow, this place exceeded my expectations. I’m not a vegan, nor vegetarian, and I wouldn’t be able to tell this place was fully vegan. It was so good!

I’ve tried to find this restaurant a couple of times. Directions take you to an empty parking lot. Is this a Food Truck? If so how do you find them. Also there phone number has no info and doesn’t take messages.

This is the vegan taqueria I want everywhere I go! Carne asada is great. Al pastor is scary good. Tastes so much like meat I would have been concerned if it was not a 100% vegan kitchen.

Finally heard about them and got a take out. The line moved very quickly, service is very efficient and pleasant, so we were glad we waited in line. The food was excellent. Everything was good, especially al pastor and asada tacos. We will definitely be back for such good food.

I love the food here, plus they use paper for most things which is a better option to reduce waste. Their salsas are awesome!

We love El Cocinero! We've taken out from there during the pandemic multiple times and the food is delicious. Al's 3 Way Burrito, with three proteins, is astonishingly good. And easily two meals if you're not ravenously hungry. But is El Cocinero closed? When we stopped by during regular afternoon business hours recently, it was closed, there was no answer when we called and no way to leave a message. And the hours on their website order page are 7:29 to 7:30 pm. I'm hoping they're just away on vacation.

This place is a must!! I tried their quesadillas and it was absolutely delicious!! Everything was super flavorful and the sauces that went with it complimented it very well! The mushroom suadero was super yummy. I loved that they had various meat substitute options. I’m dreaming of returning here!

Good Stuff - Edit
I had 5 different tacos, don't judge, I was starving. All of them were good tho. The rice and beans were alright. I might skip them next time. The refried beans are medium spicy. The flan tasted like coconut cheesecake which I liked but if that doesn't sound good to you, you might want to stay away.

Stood in line, before they closed, for about 10 minutes, mostly outside. But once I got inside, it moved very quickly. Super flavorful food. Would love to eat here weekly if possible. I had the burrito bowl, birria tacos, pozole and flan. All so damn delicious!

Personal Favourite - Edit
Some of the best food you’ll eat. Take someone here and they wouldn’t know it was plant based. This is the kind of food that converts meat eaters to plant based food. I adore this place and if I lived closer to Van Nuys I would go near daily. They have also been handling Covid very well with enforced social distancing, hand sanitizer, masks, and even a person who opens the door for you.

A fan favorite since it’s early days as the pop-up Vegatinos. Alex’s food is so good to vegan and non-vegans alike. It doesn’t disappoint. Their tacos, burritos, nachos and pozole are unbeatable.

Better than any meaty Mexican Spot in L.A.! - Edit
First of all, I never really liked Mexican food until this spot came into my life (thank you person I went on my 1st Hinge date with for introducing me to this place)! Hands down, this is the only place out there that offers actual Mexican tacos compared to other vegan spots that 'serve tacos' but they don't really taste like tacos (you know what I mean?).
Read moreAnd vegan Flan!? I'm all about it. Al Pastor, Jackfruit carnitas, and chicharon are my top 3 'meats'. Their nachos are definitely worth trying and great for sharing! The horchata is a little too sweet for me but makes me happy that I even get to drink a non-dairy Horchata. 🤗 So good!
Pros: All vegan , Vegan Flan!, Great prices!
