OK, but not exciting - Edit
Went to the Ventana El Charro. Only a couple of vegan options and no vegan cheese. Quality OK, but not outstanding. Many items could be made vegan if they had vegan cheese.
Read morePros: Jackfruit taquitos, Salsa pretty good
Cons: Disappointing that they didn’t have vegan cheese.

Great Options! - Edit
Had a hard time deciding and a good number of options. Went with hemp tamales. Salsas are good and nice spice level. Staff was super nice and accommodating.

Reliably good meal - Edit
I had one hemp tamale, a side of beans and a small side of guacamole. Most can be ordered a la carte, but the menu doesn’t make that clear. Food was solidly good and menu clearly indicates what is vegan (although they say plant based instead). No separate vegan menu, but no big deal.

Cons: A la carte items available, not on menu

Delicious and so many options! - Edit
I went here with my family and everyone could find something to eat- vegans, vegetarians, and carnivores were all satisfied. The plant based jackfruit Taquitos were so good I had to go back for them a second time! This is my favorite place I’ve tried in Tucson.

*can’t round up unfortunately* - Edit
I’m very confused.. The food here was not as rave worthy as the reviews on happy cow stated in my opinion. There was no flavor like you would typically see with Mexican cuisine. Like actually no seasoning whatsoever. A Very different take on the combination of ingredients… I just didn’t enjoy that. I respect uniqueness but with ingredients that are compatible. I didn’t feel some of these decisions made sense and weren’t what you would typically see at a Mexican restaurant. Wouldn’t recommend.

Nice place - Edit
Lots of seating options. Outdoor seating was okay, but table was dirty so moved to another table. Had the vegan tamale stuffed mushrooms. Pretty tasty. Great service.

Vegan menu - Edit
Good salsa, chips aren’t fresh or warmed- which I kind of expect in a nicer Mexican restaurant in Tucson. Guacamole was made table side but under salted. They added a chimichanga to the vegan menu- new from last time I went, meaning that they’re adding more vegan options over time. It was giant and tasty. Beans and rice sides were really good too. I liked their tamales when I had them last time.

Nopalito enchiladas! - Edit
We went to the El Charro downtown but I didn’t see that location on HC. The atmosphere is always great there. The table side guacamole was good and the Nopalito enchiladas were Fan-freaking-tastic!!!

Great vegan and gluten free options - Edit
I ate at El Charro two nights in a row while in Arizona. The first time my food was delivered from GrubHub. I had the vegan burrito with rice and beans. It was full of favor and the burrito had an abundance of vegetables. The rice and beans were fluffy and the guacamole was excellent. The next night I went to the restaurant with a large group about 1.5 hours from closing. The restaurant was booming and appeared to be kid friendly. We sat in a partial close off space in the back due to the large amount of people in our party. I ordered the vegetarian fajitas and a sangria. The fajitas were pipping hot and the flour tortillas were fresh. My only complaint is they only brought out two flour tortillas for the mass amount of vegetables that were given. My server gladly added additional tortilla in my to-go box. The menu featured several vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options. I would definitely recommend this place is you are ever in Tucson.

Fun place - Edit
This place has great atmosphere... I wouldn't expect anything less from a restaurant that has been in business for 95 years! Yes, you will more than likely have to wait for a table, but the wait is made enjoyable at their next door bar where you can also help yourself to salsa and chips! The Vegan section of their menu has about 5 entree items. I enjoyed the enchiladas which came with a side of rice and beans. The staff here are very friendly and helpful.

4 Vegan options on the menu! - Edit
They allowed me to try one of each vegan corn, Camote & Quinoa taco and a crispy avocado & jalapeño taco. They served pinto beans and rice on the side. It was lovely. Would go again. The service was great.

Food is good but heavy - Edit
The food here is good but very heavy. Makes me wonder if butter or lard is mixed with vegan offerings.
