Nice spot for a coffee - Edit

Went there for a coffee and a cookie the other day. I've spent alot of time in the area and I've really wanted to try it out. It did not dissapoint! Really enjoyed the café in general and the cookie was the best vegan cookie I've had in a long time! The coffee was also really nice. Looking forward to returning and maybe trying out their lunch/brunch menu.

Pros: Very nice cookie, Very nice coffee

Love it - Edit

Very friendly and cozy place. The food was excellent and very tasty. Had a soup and hummus(best I've tasted) for starters and padthai as main dish and delicious chocolate cake for dessert. Everything was super tasty and well prepared. Freely staff. Highly recommended! 🙂

Cosy cafe in Born - Edit

I had a wonderful lunch menu which was really good value for money and the food was brimming with flavours. The setting is laid back, and a really nice place to while away time. It´s really close to where I live, but have not yet been back, but keep recommending it to anyone looking for a lunchtime spot in this part of the city!

I´ll be back!!!

Pros: Wonderful flavours, Chilled out

Quin menjar tant bĂł! - Edit

Nice bistro - Edit

So..really good restaurant, awesome food, very tasty and good loking! But maybe staff coud be more friendly and comunicative.
And second thing is, that is a book in your libraryy(I forgot name), with raw recipes, but it's raw recipes with raw meat and raw milk, dairy... maybe you could throw out this "raw" recipe book from your library..
Thanks for raw options in Barcelona!

Pros: Location

Cons: Staff, Comunications, Non raw vegan book in library

Proyecto Azul is Born - Edit

My alternative title for this review was 'The Born Identity' just because I love the films. Then I realised they have nothing to do with Barcelona. Anyway, I need to focus. El Cafe Blue Project is a sensational place in the beautiful Born area of Barca. It drips quality and class, but definitely not pretentiousness. The menu is practically vegan. We had the cashew nut cheese pizza and a tofu and avocado sandwich. Both were excellent, but the pizza was simply magical. That cashew nut cheese is something else. Two glasses of white wine and a sparkling water brought the bill to a fair €21.50. The seating is informal with good space between tables. An open kitchen at the rear looks absolutely immaculate. The whole place is immaculate. We will be back.

Pros: huge vegan choice, cashew nut cheese, friendly staff

Interesting ideas that don't live up to expectations, overpriced - Edit

The restaurant had quite a few options, many of which seemed quite interesting. I had three dishes, three very expensive dishes, of which none were even close to living up to the names, to expectations or to the price. I will say that the dishes were unusual and innovative, but to sell something that seemed like a nut paste with super salty veggie paste on a couple of baked digestives and call it minipizzas for around 14€ is not only insulting but comical.

Pros: Interesting options and ideas, desserts

Cons: Extremely overpriced, not holding very high qualit

Enjoyed it! - Edit

El Café Blue project was a great place for our late breakfast. There were many vegan options in the menu, the interior design was at the same time cosy and interesting, and the service was friendly. The menu included many raw food options, but not all of options were raw (nor vegan). I had the grilled tofu sandwich, fresh orange juice and a coffee with soy milk (there were also other plant-based milk options). This was my favorite cafe/restaurant experience in Barcelona and the next door art exhibition was worth it as well.

Pros: Many vegan options, Nice interior design, Friendly staff

A sacred place in Barca - Edit

This cafe is an offshoot of the Blueproject foundation, and their sustainability efforts shine brightly in everything they do in this cafe! Lots of green plants, sustainable furniture, dinnerware, paper products, everything! Not to mention their raw vegan organic food which is absolutely delicious. I had the hummus starter, raw cosmic pizza main, and carrot cake dessert. Their green tea and green juice (spirulina added) was also scrumptious. I wish this place much success in the future.

No longer exclusively vegan and raw - Edit

We went to this place thinking that we'd get a nice meal. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. We tried the vegan burger (husband) and a sandwich (me). Everything was bone dry, including my husband's roasted potatoes that were obviously reheated, very possibly from the day before. The burger bun was as dry as the Sahara. My sandwich was tiny and dry. The juices were super chunky and fibrous. Overall very disappointing.

Pros: Nice location and cute interior

Cons: The food

ok but not great - Edit

The raw wrap tasted very bland and bitter. Guacamole was ok. The desert tasted like avocado. Seems like the people working here are not professional chefs, or don't taste their own food.

Not my style - Edit

I went to El Cafe Blueproject last Sunday and although I stand by everything it stands for (art and veganism!), I must admit that it's not my stile.

Food is good but they are more concerned with the presentation than with the taste or the portion size. Prices are average for Barcelona, but probably high with respect to what you can actually eat...

However, if you like "classy" places, do go there, it's just that I prefer "rougher" places (for example, the Cat bar!).

So my final judgment is... fair!

Pros: Lots of raw options

Cons: Small portions, Probably a bit pricey

bad service - Edit

I was very disappointed with the less than polite service.
I asked for the menu, in fluent Spanish, and was given an English menu after the servers exchanged disapproving looks. I then ordered my meal and asked questions once again in fluent Spanish. The server only replied to me in English. The whole experience felt very disrespectful.
I would not recommend this place.

Hip vegan cafe close to Ciutadella Park - Edit

I love the cafe blue project for those days when you want to sit down work, read and enjoy a lovely hot drink with a yummy vegan cake.

I've tried their cereal cappuccino with a raw carrot cake which was scrumptious. Also had a chia seed and fruit breakfast dish which was divine.

Their home made, gluten free, dried crackers with pumpkin, sunflower seed and sultanas was incredible with baba ghanoush.

Pros: All vegan and many raw options

Cons: Closes early and more expensive than average place

LOVE this place - Edit

I love this place, quoting another reviewer it's a taste explosion! Lots of healthy yet hearty raw food - amazing, tasteful hummus made from sunflower seeds with the best raw crackers I've tasted. Gourmet. You can get cooked food here as well and the cappuccino is served with strings of chocolate sauce on top, yumm. The food is beautifully presented and the place is laid-back and cozy. All vegan, wowi.

Pros: Taste explosion amazing gourmet food, Healthy yet hearty and beautiful presentation, Love the coffee with chocolate sauce

lousy service - Edit

Didn't welcome us, we had to ask for a menu, we didn't get what we ordered and they didn't have patience to explain the morning deal.
In the end we had to pay more because they mislead us.

we didn't enjoy at all. 13 eur for a cake, mini sandwich and a tiny coffee. And all with a bad atmosphere.

Delicious hummus - Edit

This raw vegan cafe has superb snack food and breakfast (warning: served after 11 am). They use very fresh ingredients and they go the extra mile to prepare very flavorful dishes such as sprouted garbanzo beans hummus. They offer very nice lunch deals.

Good but not great - Edit

I tried the raw combination here, which was reasonably priced and interesting. It wasn't the best raw food I've ever had, and it probably wouldn't have impressed someone unused to raw-food - a fairly basic salad, a dip with some nice crackers, and a slightly too chewy raw burger. They also have non-raw options, which I would probably try if I came here again.

Pros: Friendly staff, Good range of food, Free wifi
