CLOSED: El Azteca Mexican Taco Shop

I can't say enough good about this place. My favorite is the gut bomb megaton of a burrito called the vegan Oaxaca burrito, chimi style. Soyrizo, two kinds of tofu, and non-vegan sauces clearly labeled at the salsa bar.

You must try something smothered in the spicy-sweet guava mole. You simply must.

I'm trying to eat every menu option. The only one that didn't pay off was a vinegary spinach mushroom taco. All else has been incredible.

This place is worth the drive from Salt Lake if you are craving good Mexican food. The potions are huge, the vegan menu is extensive, the food is beyond great, and the owner is so nice and accommodating. I had heard great things about this restaurant, and was not let down. We tried the bean soup (vegan and SOOOO GOOD), a burrito made Chimi style with soyrizo (excellent), taquitos made with potato (sounds weird but I loved them), fruit salad with almonds (good), and the chips and salsa bar (how can you go wrong with fresh-made salsa? - It was great!). I liked the fact that they clearly label the 3 salsas that are not vegan with a sign stating "NOT VEGAN" (2 dairy and 1 honey). This place is the best reason to drive into Provo, IMO.

By far the best place in the area for good, varied vegetarian Mexican food. Lots of veg fillings, including veggies, beans, and even tofu. And their flan (not vegan) is delicious.

Love that they have the options for soyrizo or tofu. You can pretty much order any type of Mexican dish and have it the way you want it. The mole sauces were tasty also.

Looking for restaurants with vegan and gluten free options is always a challenge, this one had so many options that it was difficult to choose. Absolutely delicious, fresh, clean and knowledgeable staff! I just wish we had one of these in casper,wy. Will definitely return every time I'm in Provo!

This is seriously my favorite Mexican place EVER. It's so good! They have a few different vegan options for filling: soy-rizo, two kinds of tofu, veggies, and potato. My personal favorite is the soy-rizo or grilled veggie chimichanga with vegan sour cream, cheese, and guac.

The vegan sour cream and cheese isn't on the menu yet, but just ask at the counter for it. They have had it every time I go.

The chips and salsa are also to die for!

UPDATE: In the winter they have THE BEST VEGAN HOT CHOCOLATE I'VE EVER HAD. GET IT. NOW. It's topped with cinnamon and soy whipped cream!

Try both kinds of tofu, try the bean soup, try everything! Info listed is great and correct. Staff is very friendly! I love this place and now frequent it.
