Friendly & Pleasant - Edit
The portions are huge, so go very hungry or bring takeaway containers. Based on reviews, we asked the server to use as little oil and salt as possible. The food was good but nothing extraordinary; we didn’t order anything we would order again, but we will enjoy the leftovers!
Read moreIf this wasn’t the only 100% vegan restaurant open in Mazunte, we probably wouldn’t go back. However, we will go back to support vegan establishments! There were also one or two items on the menu that were intriguing, and we do look forward to going back to try those eventually!

Best meal in Mazunte - Edit
We shared the lentil salad and Moroccan Platter. The food was delicious and the best meal we had in Mazunte by far. The atmosphere of the restaurant was also beautiful. The sangria was delicious and refreshing.

The dogs loved it - Edit
I went here excited for a delicious meal. The menu sounded great so we had to check it out. Ordered almost all the Gluten Free items off the menu. By the time we got the first appetizer, which we were told was gluten free, we double checked and they said yes the tortilla was gluten free, it wasn’t! Only realized after having a few bites. We mentioned it and they said they will bring the gluten free corn chips, which never arrived…
Read moreThe mains all tasted like the following, super salty, burnt, tomato paste, burnt deep fry. If you like those flavours then this is your spot. The best tasting, and probably healthiest thing in the end, was the appetizer we got since it was mostly beans and veggies raw.
During the service, we couldn’t see our table. The lighting was very dark and dim. I didn’t notice I had yellow in my dish until I took a picture and the flash revealed the bright yellow. All the dishes just looked brown, most likely from the poor lighting.
Service was good on the filling up waters. Although the corn chips were promised and never arrived, the server we had didn’t smile once and would just say yes to things and then turns out he actually doesn’t know.
Afterwards we packed up our meals to go because I felt like the stray dogs would at least get some nourishment out of it. Fella gobbled it down and I got a few happy tail wags and pets out of it!
PS, maybe they changed owners or staff, since previous reviews seem positive. Hopefully things can be adjusted as in its current state I would not recommend it. I only tried the gluten free dishes, and the one with Couscous.
Pros: The water
Cons: Lighting, Food, Service

Atmosphere better than food - Edit
I was quite suprised about the atmosphere as you can‘t see it from the busy street. Once you are there you are quite detached from the loud nightlife. The staff seemed very helpful and was running around filling up water glasses for free. I have to say this is were the good part ends. We had the Beet salad and Orange Seitan which was OK. Portion sizes were good but there wasn‘t much else in the Beetroot salad besides Beetroot. No dressing or other veggies. The seitan for the Orange Seitan was a tad too crispy and I haven‘t tasted a salty Couscous as there. Well too over seasoned and just tasted like Vegetablebroth. I am sure the chef had a bad day so maybe others will have more luck. Overall just OK I would say.

Good quality food in a lovely tropical setting. The seitan dish was incredible, highly recommend it! It was also nice to have vegan tzatziki. A bit on the pricier side but not crazy.

Wonderful food, service and atmosphere- recommend! - Edit
On the recommendation of a man in Mexico City with a moustache, we made our way to El Armadillo. We sat down, we ordered food and we loved everything that entered our mouths. The chocolate fondant was sublime. Then when it came to finding a restaurant for the second night that we were in Mazunte, we couldn’t go anywhere else. And it was ever better the second night! We had the Moroccan platter. What a platter! Amazing falafel. Tabouleh. And if you like lots of hummus to arrive when you order a platter with hummus then order this platter. We didn't know what to do about dessert… how could anything ever be as transcendent as the chocolate fondant? The owner, a delicious and tall man called Noosh (sp?) understood our concerns and brought us his almond cookies on the house and they were so soft we fell off our chairs. Thank you Noosh, thank you man with moustache, thank you Mexico.

Not super impressed… - Edit
I never write negative reviews, and I really wanted to like this place, but I thought it was just alright. I’ve had Moroccan food before but I found the food here to be overly seasoned, and my friend thought the same. I had the platter and the falafel was very salty. I liked the beet salad and mint tea best.
Read moreIt was also a very strange dining experience because I was seated near the kitchen and the owner (I think) kept going to the kitchen to scold the chef who must have been new. Maybe he thought no one around knew Spanish, but regardless you could tell from his tone. I’ve never experienced this at any restaurant, let alone a fancy one like this.
My server was great and the atmosphere was very nice. If I’m ever back in the area I’d give it another chance. Make sure you make a reservation, just get a hold of them through WhatsApp.

OH MY GOODNESS 🤤 - Edit
Why go anywhere else? Seriously, I'm a good snob and this was some of the best food I've found in MEXICO! The Iced Golden Milk was top notch, the platter was AMAZING and such big portion (enough for two people), the seitan was so yummy and the most perfect texture...if you have room for coffee and dessert DO IT! Coffee here is the best in town ☕💖

Gorgeous vegan restaurant - Edit
This was a lovely vegan dining experience from start to finish. After struggling to find it initially, we finally spotted the sign along Calle Rinconcito and headed up the small hill to find the pink walled restaurant. The staff were super welcoming and topped you up with cold water throughout dinner. The food was exceptional, especially the koftas, the cashew tzatziki and the orange Seitan. How do they get the Seitan that soft?? Make sure you're hungry when you go as the portions are pretty big. We also had a delicious cocktail each. Sadly was too full for dessert so I would definitely return.
