Amazing vegan food - Edit
Clearly marked vegan and vegetarian menu items. I had the veggie enchiladas, both with their incredible cashew based mole blanco, instead of one red and one white, because the Serrano red sauce is a little spicy for lightweight me. My husband loved the chile en nogada. Makes me want to drive to Estes Park just for dinner

Clearly marked vegan options - Edit
We had a decent dinner here, nothing exciting. We had asked if the Chile en Nogada was spicy, and were assured by the server that it wasn't. It turned out to be too spicy for one of our party. The Plaintain was excellent.

There were several vegan options, it was hard to choose! I went with the veggie enchiladas and they were great. Everything was clearly marked on the menu. Will absolutely go again!

SO good - Edit
We got the chips and salsa, plantains, and veggie enchiladas. Seriously some of the best Mexican food I’ve ever had. Everything was incredible from the homemade chips and roasted salsa, perfectly cooked plantains, and mind blowing veggie enchiladas. We’ll be back if we’re in the area again!!

Vegan Enchiladas YES - Edit
Delicious vegan enchiladas, well marked, already vegan, so good, so grateful. This was the perfect meal after coming off a few long days in the woods. But I’m also pretty sure it would be good even if I hadn’t been hiking. 😎👍 Vegans is Estes’s Park who like Mexican food, EAT HERE!!!

Great option in Estes Park - Edit
Beautiful space by the river with a couple of vegan options clearly labeled in the menu. I had the veggie enchiladas and they were pretty tasty! The red sauce was nice and a bit spicy, and the white one also nice and super creamy. It was a good choice!

Must stop while in Estes - Edit
If you’re questioning where to eat in Estes…don’t skip this place or think twice about it. They have a couple of vegan options that were delicious. The enchiladas and the chile en nogada both had 2 different sauces on them (one a cashew base and one a tomato base) that were great. Service was fast and atmosphere was fun.

My wife and I go there for one dish, Chile En Nogada, It is truly spectacular. There is also a salad which can be veganized. However the Chile En Nogada is worth the trip.

Somewhat limited options but delicious! - Edit
The HappyCow description is out of date - there isn't a separate vegan menu anymore but there are options clearly marked on the menu. The veggie enchiladas are delicious and very filling. Also thought it was cool that the wines on the drink menu are also labeled vegan or not - makes you trust that they really know what vegan means!

Great choice for vegan-friendly catering in Estes - Edit
Ed's event coordinator and staff did a great job setting up a buffet for us at The Barrel for a recent family celebration. We were able to substitute a vegan option for one of the meat choices, and all in our party commented on how great all the food was. Roasted seasonal vegetables, fajita peppers and onions, black beans, Spanish rice, guacamole/salsa and chips, pico, and Ed's vegan mole blanco sauce were a great hit (as were the non vegan options). They also accommodated my request for both wheat and corn tortillas in case we had gluten intolerant guests. We tried the plantains on a preview luncheon (there have been many positive comments on them). They were not our favorite, but they are certainly unique and fun to try.

Finally tried Ed’s Cantina after reading the reviews. I was a bit skeptical, but now I’m a believer. Very fresh food and three decent vegan options (enchiladas, tacos, and a poblano bowl). They have more or less the same ingredients but all were delicious.

It was fine! - Edit
Had the vegan enchiladas - they were alright, quite bland and nothing special. Service was under par. The salsa however was amazing! And the guacamole was very fresh. I won’t be visiting again but it was good to find a place with vegan options clearly listed.

Heavy on the salt. - Edit
It was a busy Friday evening, so I'll excuse an item from my dish being left off, but I can't excuse the excess salt in all the dishes and chips. I was happy to see more than one filling vegan option & appreciate the menu is clearly labeled. Overall my dish was tasty, but I'm not inclined to return when I'm in Estes again.
