Best vegan curries in Brisbane! - Edit
- Update:
Read moreSince changing ownership the food and service now leaves a lot to be desired. Very disappointed we've lost our local.

Since finding Eden Garden a few years ago, we have not visited another Indian restaurant - it was love at first bite
They really understand what vegan means and all vegan options are clearly marked. They even offer a vegan version of naan and paneer!
Our favourite curries are baingan da bharta and paneer tikka masala. The tikka masala is unforgettably rich and creamy and the eggplant is tandoor roasted, giving it a delicious, unique flavour.
Everything we have tried has been utterly delicious, service is quick and there is plenty of seating. I cannot recommend Eden Garden enough - I wish I could give them 10 stars!

Unsure why staff told us ownership had changed? Either way, a rapid decline in food and service 😔

Recent reviews of poor service are interesting…the young lady who served us was attentive, accommodating, patient and very pleasant. We have kids, which makes ordering a bit of a task sometimes, she didn’t make us feel the least bit rushed. And of course, the vegan options hit the spot!
Read morePros: Lots of vegan dishes, even the naans etc. , Lovely, authentic service. , Beer!

The subz makhanwala & adraki aloo gobi are INCREDIBLE - Edit
Do yourself a favor and try this place out.
Read moreThe subz makhanwala is soooo good if you like the idea of butter chicken - but you can make it spicy! You can order mild, medium, indian medium, or hot. I love the indian medium, it's enough to make a little prickle of sweat and your lips tingle.. perfect!
I recently branched out and tried the vegan adraki aloo gobi - it was brilliant. You can taste the flames in the dish, I'm unsure if they have a tandoor but my goodness this is delicious food.
I love taking family and friends here. The omnis are always happy and so are the vegans (or lone vegan🙄).
The vegan garlic naan is delicious. I've kept returning time and time again but I'm so reluctant to try new items because I'm convinced they can't get any better than my usual order 🤣
If you like rice with your meal you'll need to add that to the order, don't forget!
The portions are generous, they're enough for me to halve and enjoy for lunch the next day.
Pros: Lots of vegan options, Decent price point, Really good food!

Amazing food but service not great - won't eat in again. - Edit
To give a fair and balanced review I will start by saying that the food here is really delicious.
Read moreWe have been twice and unfortunately not had a great experience either time, mostly relating to the service.
The first time the food was really quite spicy despite me asking for no spice at all. It was a Saturday night and despite last orders being at 9.45, at 9.30 they started turning off lights and mopping around us. Having worked in a restaurant, I know it is frustrating when you are waiting for a table to leave but to start mopping around us as we are still eating our mains was very off-putting and unwelcoming.
The second time we went, also on a Saturday, we mentioned this as we didn't want it to happen again. I was going to order the Malai Kofta as had it the previous time and had asked for it to be made vegan(it is marked as vegetarian on the menu but they said it was fine to be made vegan). This time we were told there was no way the Malai Kofta could be made vegan and it was very much a vegetarian dish. Obviously this left me feeling quite unhappy at the possibility that the last time I ate it I was unknowingly eating dairy.
Our food was once again, very tasty. However, the dishes do not match the menu description - particularly the starters. We ordered the kebabs and out came small fried patties. It also said they came with mint sauce and it was all labelled vegan. When we then requested the mint sauce the waiter told us that wasn't vegan.
A little unsettling if the menu and staff are inaccurate with what is and isn't vegan.
And to top it all off, sure enough the staff started closing down the whole restaurant around us. We ended up getting our mains to take away as it wasn't relaxing and we did not feel valued as customers there. Certainly no chance of a dessert!
Other things to bear in mind - whilst they do BYO, the whole table gets charged corkage at $3 per person, not just the people drinking. Also, there is no options to split the bill which is inconvenient if dining with friends or in a big group.
Yes the food is lovely but I don't think we would dine in again. Maybe consider take-away but only if we could guarantee everything was 100% vegan. Definitely room for improvement.

Love this place!! Vegan naans! - Edit
Have eaten here so many times and its always great quality food, with real veggies (not frozen ones which a lot of places seem to use) with so many vegan options. Staff are always friendly. First time i've found a vegan naan for years and they're [censored] good too, as well as a range of starters and all the curries i've tried are really delicious. The best curry i've found in Brisbane. Couldn't recommend it enough.

Cons: They serve meat
