The staff was wonderful and very friendly. Make sure to ask for their separate vegan menu. I had a chili chutney, jalapeño, vegan cheese, and tomato ciabatta with tomato soup. It was divine!

Great vegan menu - Edit
Had a fantastic vegan breakfast here. Scrambled tofu on sour dough bread, vegan sausages and mini hash browns with a delish oat milk cappuccino. Great service great food lots of options.

So when we first went here I was so impressed and LOVED the vegan breakfast. Sadly since then the quality and amount of food you get has gone downhill and the pieces up. Having said that, given there is not much choice in Melrose, it’s a welcome oasis in a vegan desert and the quality is always okay, the service friendly and they always endeavour to answer all your questions. Super lovely to our wee daughter, they have high chairs and kids cutlery.

Varied and nice vegan-only menu (alongside non vegan standard menu). lovely cafe - soup and ciabatta sandwich were both delicious and sensible price - good portions - great staff!

Updated review October 2022: giving another star as we came back for lunch today and they’ve brought out a complete separate vegan menu with lots of really great options! I went for the vegan cheddar and chilli jam ciabatta which was excellent, really cheesy and a good size portion. Definitely plan to come back again, they’re doing a really great job now of providing for vegans 🌱
Read moreOriginal review June 2022: I came here for lunch this week and had a reasonably good burger - unfortunately the burger bun was very dry which was hopefully just a one-off. There are quite a few clearly labelled vegan options on the menu and as there aren't many vegan-friendly places in Melrose I'm sure I'll be back to try a few more soon. The surroundings are beautiful, light and airy with lots of plants.
