Vegan pancakes leave a lot to be desired

I’ve been here twice, the first time I ordered “everyone’s favorite stack,” which is labeled as vegan on the menu, so I don’t think it was necessary to specify to my server that I needed it to be vegan. I thought it was delicious, though weird that it had real butter on the side.

I just went again today, and this time I specified vegan in my pancake order. The food I got tasted completely different than the first time I was there: very dry, dense, and a super strong cornmeal flavor. Turns out, the default of this item isn’t vegan, you have to specify—even though the menu says it’s vegan—and the vegan version is the same as the gluten free option, which is not mentioned anywhere on the menu.

And it’s just not good. I had to drench mine in syrup to make it edible. I’ve had delicious vegan and gluten free pancakes before, and these are not even close to that level. It’s more like eating cornbread in a pancake shape.

Very disappointed with the labeling of the menu and half-assed attempt at vegan pancakes, I won’t be back.

Cons: Everyone’s Favorite Stack “vegan” pancakes, Deceptive menu labeling

Won't EAT here again

EAT was not at all what we expected based on google reviews! The pancakes were fine and kids liked them enough. 1 order is large enough to share among several little kids (comes with 2 huge, GF / vegan pancakes - hold the butter). But the "scramble"... yikes. Unfortunately, the scramble is not scrambled at all. It was barely cooked, unseasoned, firm tofu cut into large blocks. The greens, however, were heavily seasoned with a
spicy southwest seasoning and an alarming amount of oil. The hash browns were okay. It seemed like they were shredded with a potato peeler. The staff was unfriendly, the a/c was broken, the OJ was warm and our waitress was very confused about what vegan meant. It took several tries to put the order in accurately and after asking the kitchen she told us the tofu scramble normally comes with bacon, although the menu doesn't say this, I'd make sure they don't add it to yours! We appreciate the kitchen for shooting their shot at a vegan dish, it looked like they were really trying, but unfortunately we would never EAT here again.

Pros: Decor, Cold brew coffee

Cons: Tofu "scramble", Service, Warm OJ

Excellent tofu scramble

Had a great southwestern tofu scramble with hash browns and whole wheat toast. Very flavorful and huge portions. Definitely will come back here! A little pricier than your avg diner but not out of line with the menu. Several other vegan and vegetarian options also on the menu.

Pros: Great flavor/ vegan options, Good coffee

Cons: Slightly higher prices

Hot Filling Breakfast!

Staying at a nearby hotel, there weren’t many 7 a.m. vegan breakfast options (and the hotel breakfast certainly wasn’t vegan). Tried the Southwestern Tofu Scramble. None of the toast options were vegan, but they were able to substitute a side of fruit (blueberries, sliced bananas and strawberries), which made for a nice sweet treat! The scramble was slightly spicy and flavorful, and the portions were large (so much so that the leftovers might turn into tomorrow’s breakfast!).

Warm Vegan breakfast options

Pancakes were good with (huckleberry) syrup (otherwise a bit dry). Ask for vegan Hashbrowns- tasty.

They have other vegan options but we were satisfied with these.

Do not get the Bloody Mary - it has anchovies in the mix.

Pros: Hashbrowns, Huckleberry Syrup

Cons: Bloody Mary not vegan
