Raw, Vegan, Sprouted and mostly Gluten Free, YES! - Edit

Just had lunch there after seeing a review in the local newspaper. The food was and is wonderful. But most importantly many of the items are made with sprouted and low glycemic ingredients which are important to those of us managing cancer. It is wonderful to have a restaurant close by with such wonderful and delicious food! What we really liked is that there was a wide selection of food to go.

Gluten-Free, Organic, Sprouted & Vegan! Yay! - Edit

I visit Novato about every four weeks to make my Wild Birds Unlimited birdseed run. I usually end up down in Corte Madera and treat myself to some vegan fast food at Veggie Grill. This time around, thanks to Happy Cow, I found this little raw restaurant right in Novato. It isn't located in downtown Novato, in fact, the shopping center it's located in is a bit no frills. But parking was easy and there was no line in the restaurant. The interior was just like so many of the raw restaurants that I have visited. Unglamorous and no frills. But once I began eating my delicious, raw lunch, none of that mattered! The veggie wrap with cashew nut cheez, carrots, celery, kale, sprouts and sunflower seeds was delicious and I could feel the nutrients coursing through my body almost as soon as I started chewing. My husband gave me a taste of his veggie burger made with sunflower seeds that was just as delicious. They also offer sweet or savory crepes that I plan on trying on my next visit to Marin. Juices, smoothies, a daily soup and detoxing cleanses are some of the other options on the menu. Oh, and the desserts are amazing! I devoured the raw coconut pie and my husband loved his raw pumpkin pie. The restaurant has only 2 small tables inside and 2 outside so don't plan on bringing a big group with you. They do have a take out menu. I plan to support this restaurant whenever I am in Marin.

Pros: delicious, raw & vegan, organic, sprouted, easy parking

Cons: limited seating

We Can't Believe We Found This Great Raw Foodie Heaven! - Edit

We'd eat here every day if we could. Unfortunately, we are visiting from Southern California and we wish we could take this marvelous place back to Ojai, CA with us! Not only is it super clean... no, it's sparkling clean... And, it's so tastefully decorated in such a way that it feels spacious, but at the same time very cozy.
It's small, but packed with healthy eats. We had the raw pizza and the Largest Combination they offered which consisted of half of a wrap, a cup of soup of the day (Butternut Squash) and a fresh salad drizzled with a creamy nut cheese sauce. The raw pizza crust gave a choice of onion bread or a raw flaxseed cracker. We chose the cracker... and I'm so glad we did. It was fantastic! I would chose it again, but I'm curious to try the onion bread next time.
The Wrap was awesome as was the Butternut Soup. The thing I loved best about the soup was it was just piping hot! How did they keep it so amazingly hot in that tiny little crockpot? The menu says, "Cooked Vegan Sprouted Soup," I don't think you can get more healthy than that! And, from the first bite of the wrap, you could practically feel it vibrate with wholesome goodness... and the taste beckoned you for another half!
The living salad was so crisp and fresh, I felt as though someone had run out into the garden and picked each fresh leaf just before I ate it. My husband loved the Cashew Cream Cheese Salad Dressing so much, he asked for more... I was surprised because he doesn't usually doesn't do that.
And, just before we left we ordered the Mango & Kale Blended Smoothie. The menu says it contains Coconut, Mango, Kale, Banana and Vanilla. I can definitely taste the quality packed into the little sized smoothie cup... I am sure my taste buds told me there were absolutely no "fillers" in there. No, this smoothie was pure and frozen quality ingredients... no water or ice added, I'm sure!
If you're in the Novato area, treat yourself to a highly nutritious Real Live Raw Food Meal Experience. The menu board is so detailed in its "raw-ness" that it even points out which items utilize heat in their "cooked" offerings, which are very few... the hummus, the sprouted soups and the savory or sweet crepes. I LOVE that quality of the owner! It shows you how honest AND just how serious they take their artisan food craft here.
So, give it ALL a try if you can. The prices are a modest asking for the highest of quality ingredients AND immaculate creations. Don't hesitate to "trust" these conscienious creators of true goodness in health. I have a feeling you are in good hands the minute you step in the door of the Easy Living Foods shop. Enjoy!

Cute Place, Delicious Vegan Food - Edit

This place is 100% vegan with gluten-free and raw foods. The owner is very sweet and I love seeing her at the farmer's market in San Rafael on Sundays. The food is great, with many options from juice to popsicles and pizza to crepes. Love going to this little place in Novato.

tasty raw - Edit

We stopped in for lunch and were greeted by a friendly staff. We ordered the pizza and wrap. Both were very tasty, but the pizza was tiny, so we ordered the cooked soup of the day too, a butternut squash and bean type. Dirk also bought some dry cereals and soups to go for work and he thought they were good. They also have no restroom for customers, so we had to use the ones at Round Table. Overall, tasty, but make sure you order enough.

Pros: tasty raw, nice staff

Cons: no restrooms, smal portions

Sweet spot on opening day - Edit

Visited this cozy spot on opening day during noon hour rush. Helping to create a setting for socializing, there are two round tables inside and two outside. Five people working behind the counter dealt with the crush of customers with friendliness and professionalism. One worker handed out a free round of phyto shots (sprouted broccoli juice) to those of us waiting for service. As a regular imbiber of green smoothies, I enjoyed the fresh (and free) sample of green-ness. I brought a vegan-curious co-worker to join me in search of raw dessert after my vegan (not raw) lunch of last night's leftovers. I snagged the last slice of raw key lime pie from the to-go dessert shelf in the refrigerator case. The pie was creamy deliciousness. The lime, coconut, and almond hit the taste buds just right. No strange flavors or after-taste here, AND the pie is soy-free. Avocado adds creaminess and green-ness. I was impressed by the huge variety of lunch items on the menu board, as well as assorted soups and packaged house-made biscotti. I will definitely return for a meal and an occasional splurge on pie -- next time I will try coconut cream pie. Best of luck to the owner and welcome to central Novato!

Pros: 100% vegan + raw + GF (at the same time), Excellent food, Healthy, friendly, sociable vibe

Cons: Off the beaten path (not downtown), Limited seating could be a challenge
