I believe it's a language and cultural barrier... My boyfriend and I went here in January of 2023 and yes, tatted up guy with gauges (the big earrings), took our order too. He was super kind and went out of his way to get us an Uber on his phone because we didn't have service/they didn't have wifi. They didn't speak a lick of English, though (nor should they), and we had to google translate everything. I can see how other Americans could take him as rude, but I never take other people's moods/attitudes personally, and I thought "they probably have to deal with entitled Americans speaking English to them all the time, when they have zero responsibility to learn OUR language".

What's irresistible, fresh, served in a parking lot and may likely lead to a serious addiction? Pizza Kitchen! They may say it's on Earth, but really, this place is another world of goodness. I got so high from this pizza I could barely open my pousada's gate fumbling with the keys as the dopamines from this fresh, hot, personal pizza coursed through my veins whispering, "Go back," for more and "Just one more pizza," even before my head hit the pillow.

Was expensive, California prices, and the ambiance was like dining in an empty car dealership, but better quality pizza is unlikely to be found anywhere in country.

This restaurant is consistently delicious. We are locals and go very frequently. Everything from the drinks to the dessert is amazing. It’s not overly greasy either so you feel good when you leave😄very nice staff as well!

We tried the carbonara, pistacho pesto and bolognese pasta, AMAZING! They don’t look that big in pictures, but they are. They are fresh, full of flavors and the bread that comes with it is a great add on. The sangria is sweet and very good. The staff is very nice and helpful.

We went with the family. The carte offers delicious pizzas and salad. They make their own cheese which are sold nearby at Automercado. Friendly service and delicious. A go to for my daughter and her family.

My boyfriend and I got dinner here tonight and it was SO delicious! I got the sangria, we got the salad appetizer with vegan blue cheese, “chicken” (made out of mushrooms I believe) & it was soooo good & a huge portion 😍. He got the pepperoni pizza & I got the feta balsamic pizza… both were amazing, but I liked mine better because it had the freshness of the arugula. Finally we got the raw key lime pie to go, because sadly they were out of the tiramisu & cheesecake 😫😫.. we have yet to eat the key lime pie but I’m sure it will be delicious!

Also the staff was very very helpful and friendly even with the language barrier!

This place actually uses all the seasonings and super enjoyable.
Gf got the pesto and it’s okay but my carbonara is IT.
Great atmosphere, fast quality service.
Could go on and on and on.

I really enjoyed my meal here. I got the focaccia, which is really flatbread and not focaccia. I went with the carbonara and then the tiramisu. All were very good. I would definitely come back.

I consider Earthly Kitchen the best vegan restaurant in Costa Rica and a strong conteneder for my favorite vegan restaurant in the world. Their menu, which is vegan italian is simply delicious. I ordered the mozarella sticks with a pepperoni pizza and I was impressed on how delicious the cheese was.

Amazing vegan Italian food in the city - Edit
We've ordered this to-go and at their cute location. It's a converted container with covered outdoor seating and part of a larger complex. There's a neighboring bar nearby to get drinks as you wait on food too 😊 The mozzarella sticks are the best we've had and the pizzas, though on the smaller side are delicious and thin-crusted with great toppings. We especially loved the ravioli and desserts as well! If you're craving authentic tasking Italian food, but without the dairy/animal products... this is a great spot!

Had a seitan pepperoni pizza and some "mozerella dippers" from here! I have never had a vegan pizza where I had to question if it was vegan! By far the best pizza I have ever tasted! If your in San Jose! YOU NEED TO GO HERE!

Everything on the menu sounds delicious and it was really hard to choose, but we decided to go for the veggie lovers pizza and the pasta carbonara.
Read moreThe pizza dough was perfectly crunchy where it needed to be and the cheese had a wonderful flavor and melted quite well, the veggies on top cooked beautifully. Absolutely delicious and I can imagine the rest of the pizzas are just as amazing as well.
The pasta sauce was really tasty and creamy, the tofu bacon and micro greens added a special flavor to it. There’s also many other pasta dishes on the menu and I want to go back to try them as well.
Not pictured but we started with mozzarella sticks and they were absolutely perfect, crunchy and the sauce was to die for.
The key lime pie was the perfect way to end the meal as it was fresh and light, sweet enough and it melted in our mouths.
I definitely recommend this place and would absolutely go again.
