Wholefoody/eco-friendly shop with fresh goods - Edit
Large eco-store with a big selection of goods including organic fruits and veggies, a meal deal fridge, a fresh bread/pastry section (some things are not vg), a counter with some sweet treats and lots of other vegan products, including a variety of chocolate and flavours of Dandies marshmallows. I bought a pastry from the checkout area, it was very yummy.

One of the best eco supermarkets around! - Edit
Bigger than a normal healthfood shop, it's more like a small supermarket. The variety and options you get are really exciting. All the products are really top quality, and at really great prices. Some things you can buy in there I haven't seen anywhere else. It's really a one-of-a-kind shop, and worth a visit.

Great variety of products - Edit
Absolute lifeline having this in Glastonbury. The range of products is excellent. I personally would like to see an emphasis on low waste though- rows of hoppers and less packaged products. I am aware most of the packaging is ‘compostable’ but obviously better to do without packaging at all wherever possibles

Big shop with plenty of vegan goodies - Edit
Given that health food shops are often little places, Earthfare feels like a really big store with a wide selection of stock, including plenty of vegan options. A fridge and freezer take up most of one long wall, giving room for an extensive range of chilled and frozen goods. As well as supplies for home cooking, this includes ready-to-eat sweet and savoury vegan snacks such as pastries, brownies and ice-creams. There's also fresh baked bread available and a deli counter for take-away food. The staff were friendly, and offer cardboard delivery boxes to help carry purchases of heavy bottles and tins.

My favourite health food store - Edit
An excellent large health food shop in Glastonbury. More like a small health food supermarket. The choice is excellent with a full range of health food supplies. They also stock a full range of bathroom products, herbal and nutritional supplements. Always updating their range and introducing new things. They have a great selection of fresh organic fruit and veg, supporting local business where possible. Whether you live locally or are just passing through and need to stock up on snacks, pasties or pies there is something for everyone here. Prices are fair.

An invaluable addition to the town.
Pros: Choice, organic fresh food

Glastonbury's wholefood supermarket - Edit
Earthfare has now moved up the road to occupy the old Woolworths shop. This is much brighter and more spacious, and you'll love or loathe the change depending on your preference. Personally, I do miss the intimacy of the old, cramped, dark and dingy shop, but I also love the big, airy, open feel of the new shop. Either way, there's no denying that the move offers many advantages: a new bank of refrigerators offers the potential for a far greater selection of foods, and there's now a cafe located at the back of the shop (reviewed under a separate entry).
Read moreAt the time of writing, it does seem that money is a little tight for the owners, since stock levels are consistently low. Many of the shelves and fridges feature items spaced as widely as possible to give the appearance of abundance. Also, it's a shame that no effort seems to have been made to expand the range of veg - especially given the recent loss of the greengrocers over the road.
It's still early days though, and it will be interesting to see how things develop in the new shop. It certainly has massive potential.
Pros: spacious, reasonably priced, cafe
Cons: poorly stocked, needs more veg

OUTSTANDING for a Small town! VEGAN PASTIES!!!!!! - Edit
We stumbled upon this Organic Grocery store. Don't confuse it with the US/London Whole Foods, its actually EARTH FARE Whole Foods. Right as you walk in spot the fridges on the right. One is filled with Vegan Goodness. The first day we got there there was only a bean vegan pie (bland) but we stopped by again on a Tuesday on our way out of Somerset and it was PACKED! There were multiple Vegan Pasties / and other similar baked goods by a local company. Seriously flakey goodness. The store stocks tons of vegan products, and toiletries as well. I stocked up on rice crackers and vegan gummies, but there is a vegan candy bar, too! two of them!
