A very pleasant surprise as we were traveling I-81. So many options of real vegan food. I opted for ‘the crabby’ sandwich which was as very flavorful and had the Mac N Cheese as a side. Very tasty! My son had the meatball Sub which he enjoyed. This place is definitely on the agenda when traveling this way again!

Owners/chef have nailed it in a spacious, clean, good vibes space. The Lit Nachos are amazing, the macaroni & potato salad are sooo yummy. Best plant based cheese sauce EVER!

What a lucky find! We stumbled upon this place on our road trip. The food was plentiful and great! You can choose to eat healthily- Moroccan salad or not as much with a triple burger! Lots of gf options if you need that.

Found on the Happy Cow app on a long road trip. Couldn’t believe our luck to find a great vegan restaurant off I-81! Owner was very friendly, welcoming atmosphere. So many choices - it was hard to decide! We ordered the pepperoni roll, Frisco chicken, Big Beefy B, grilled cheese, and Mac and cheese. All were delicious and big portions.

Ordered a bunch of different items tonight and not only was everything amazing, the portion sizes were super generous! Honestly the best marinara sauce I've ever had, with the garlic knots. Will absolutely be back the next time we are in town

I had to take time to study the menu prior to arriving at this off-the-beaten-path restaurant, as there were SO many options to pick from. We wound up getting the Rueben, crabless cake sandwich, coleslaw, and mac & cheese. We ordered to-go as there was no outdoor seating and we had our dog with us, and the co-owner told us about a nice park nearby to eat. Everything was super tasty. The crabless cake didn't look exciting (patty with chipotle mayo on a potato bun), but it was delicious! Lots of good stuff packed into the patty, and it didn't need any frills. The Reuben was great. The mac & cheese was so rich that I could only handle a few bites, but I enjoyed it and my partner was happy to eat the rest. The coleslaw was tasty too. The couple that owns and operates the restaurant were very kind and seem well connected with the West Virginia vegan community, as the lady provided recommendations for other spots to try. I would absolutely come back (probably multiple times) next time I am in town, both to support a great business and to try all of the amazing options!

We really enjoyed our meal and went home full and happy! Every bite was better than the last! We shared amazing garlic knots, then the CSpicy Burger and Crabby Sandwich with baked Mac and cheese and coke slaw. Dessert was cheesecake with caramel sauce. Definite splurge, but so worth!!

We stopped in for dinner at Earth Based Cafe while traveling up I-81. The approach is traditional comfort foods with really great flavors. I had the vegan Reuben and potato salad and my husband had a spicy burger with mac and cheese. We loved every bite! We had to get a bag to carry all the desserts we bought. Everything there is vegan and I’ll put good money that everything is tasty. The owners are passionate about the food and it shows.

To be fair, they kind of had us at “Vegan” and within 15 minutes of home. The Mac and Cheese is creamy and flavorful. The meatball sub had great texture and spice. The Western Burger was flame grilled and done perfectly. I love that they give the choice between Beyond and Impossible. The cupcake selection sucked us right in too. We will definitely be back!

Read moreWe’ve been back twice now and each time it did not disappoint!! It’s basically in our backyard and we plan to make many more visits!
We’ve tried the Steak and Cheese hoagie and the Crabby as our main dishes. Both had so much flavor and hit just the spot!
We also tried the drummies as an appetizer! My GODS..they are AMAZING! The texture is fantastic, love it and it’s GF(soy based)! You also get your choice of two side dipping sauces which we got the House and Regular Ranch! Both sauces we had were tasty and it was so hard to choose one over the other LOL I literally could eat this as my meal and might next time..haha
For our sides we got the Potato Salad, Baked Mac and Chee and the Sriracha Beans! Loved all of them !!!! The beans were my partners cuz I am a baby to spice but I did taste them and they were spiced very well and had a nice, flavorful, creeping heat to them! The Mac and cheese was so comforting..I LOVE me some Mac and this is seriously up in the top 3 as forever faves. The consistency and flavor was like..perfect. And the potato salad !!! DELICIOUS !!!!
They also have many desserts to choose from!! Which also includes…FRIED OREOS !!! Such a deliciously sinful treat. I also had the carrot cake from here which is one of my ALL time fave desserts and I haven’t been able to find a place that makes it just how it should be but well……they did it !!! I was in awe at how perfect it was LOL I want the whole damn thing next time, please!
SO YEAH…If you want some seriously great comfort food with an inviting atmosphere PLEASE come here!

This place is a hidden gem when traveling through WV. The owners are so sweet and kind and the food is above and beyond. We tried so many things, but I was so impressed by the macaroni salad. It reminded me of the kind my mom used to make, only better! The cupcakes and cake slices were moist and delicious as well! The crabby sandwich would have been better with some lettuce or something added, but overall the flavor was spot on to a real crab cake.

Luckily found this vegan spot passing through on our way to Asheville. We tried the cheeseburger salad and steak and cheese salad. Both were delicious!! I’ve never had seitan like that. If raw veggies aren’t your thing, skip or adjust your order for the steak n cheese salad but honestly- I wish I could have tried the whole menu!

Anytime I’m in the mood for comfort food (which is always), this has become my favorite spot. Everything is absolutely delicious, but my personal favorite is the steak n’ cheez and their personal cheesecakes. Each table has a lil plant on it which I found so cute.

Our family of seven had the opportunity to try many of thier meals. Highlights: drumsticks, spin dip, garlic knots, cheese steak sandwich, BBQ sandwich. The sides were all great too (Mac, beans, potato salad). Stoked that we have family that we visit a few times a year nearby.

Awesome vegan menu and sweet owners - Edit
We were visiting the area from Philly and were so excited to find this gem of a restaurant! The food was fantastic! We loved the chik'n sandwich, burgers and the macaroni salad was amazing. We had some cupcakes at the end of our meal and they were some of the best began baking we've had. Highly recommend stopping by!

Our visit was our first, and will not be our last. We ordered 2 lunches to go (although for those wishing to eat in, the atmosphere is light, open, and clean... with tables appropriately covid-spaced) consisting of the steak and cheese sub and the Crabby, and two sides of mac n cheese and slaw.
