Great food - Edit
Interesting vegetable focused menu. I tried the fava and roasted veg, which made a lovely light lunch. I also had a warm apple juice, which was flavoured with a little cinnamon and was delicious.

Amazing - Edit
Cosy place, they have a cat, friendly staff, and unique fancy menu. A bit expensive if you want a quick bite, but ideal for a date or if you have something to celebrate. If you take a full meal, one drink and desert you should expect to pay between 30 and 50 per person. But I highly recommend to check it out. Will try to visit again this week for the fried mushrooms.

Homely feeling, nice food (portions could have been a bit bigger). Next to our table lay one of the two cats, which was extra nice and cozy

Cool place! A good midway point between Eye and STRAAT if you’re on foot.
Read moreBean Stew was good but the portion could’ve been bigger and would be better if the bread was toasted.
Non-vegan friend had the Bapao and a Cappuccino and he really enjoyed both.
Chocolate Brownie was insanely good. Dense, rich, and extremely chocolatey. One of the best I’ve ever had.

Sat just on the water’s edge in the north, with a lovely outside seating area that looks out onto a plein filled with interesting boats and pieces of artwork. Very high standard of food and menu. Excellent all round.

Calm spot for lunch - Edit
As we were staying north of the river this was on our list of places to stop, and it did not disappoint.

It was raining (a lot) but the big shelter meant we could still sit outside and the soup and warm alcoholic apple juice kept me nice and warm.

Homely - Edit
Had a mustard soup and some bitterballen and a couple of beers. It was spot on. People of all ages were there intermingling, staff were down to earth, and the decor is characterful. Heating was a touch high for me but I'm generally warm anyway so no bother. I'll go again I think.

Chestnut soup - Edit
The Café is within an interesting community, however now in winter the place looked deserted and we were not sure at first if the Café would be open, the livelihood inside was hidden from the outside. The interior arrangement and decoration were rustic but quite cozy, although we had to sit with our jackets as it was too cold for us. There was a system failure so we had to wait quite a bit before our order could be taken. The menu was separated into different time slots so to say, therefore the choice for lunch was rather limited. We had the Ravioli and chestnut soup which were quite tasty, we were also able to order the Bitterballen, as we stayed longer than 4 p. M., they were okay. The portions were not filling and the prices a bit high, at least compared to other vegan places. We did find the choice of dishes nice though, we never saw any other place offering chestnut soup or kimchi filled ravioli.

Beautiful, unique spot - Edit
I love this place to visit, it has a unique feeling, right next to the water with lots of repurposed old boats for seating, swinging chairs and, in the summer, swimming right off their dock. All the building materials and furniture are recycled or repurposed, which gives the place a kind of sold, lived-in feeling that really makes me feel comfortable. I can stay here all day long. The concept of the whole place is to make everything local and sustainable and they really work on that without greenwashing. The food is good, interesting and varied but it's too expensive for me. They do talk about how the more local and sustainable your produce is, the more expensive it is and that is ofc not their fault but the fault of the system they are trying to get around and they do work with the Stadspas to make it cheaper for lower-income people, which is great. This really is a place not to be missed if you're visiting Amsterdam and it's worth the trip over the river a hundred times over.

If you are in this part of Amsterdam, this is a great place to come for a drink or a full meal. It's right by the water and has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, and the atmosphere is generally relaxed.

I love it here. - Edit
Everything here is lovely. The set up close to the water, the very friendly staff and the yummie food. It was our second time here and we enjoyed it again as much as the first time around. We had gazpacho, bread with mushrooms and pickled veggies, and lemony ravioli. Oh, and a slice of raw cake! We waited a bit for the mains, but hey: the place was super full (lunch on a summery saturday) so I wouldn't have expected it any differently. Also, the vibes are great so waiting isn't bad at all.
Read moreMy only advice, as someone who's a little more sensitive about noise: if you are as well, maybe don't sit under the bigger tent outside, go for the tables a little further from the center. The noise seems to accumulate the closer you are to the middle😄
