Amazing vegan menu - Edit
They have a separate menu with vegan and gluten-free options, with at least 15 vegan options. They also have vegan aïoli and vegan chocolate cake.

Anti vegan manager - Edit
They have a specialty menu with vegan option and gluten free options. When we asked for this menu the waiter who was serving us (also the manager) said 'o no not another one'.... don't support this place vegan-unfriendly and tasteless food!

Great service and desserts - Edit
We ate our meal as part of the twilight aquarium tour, which offered a 2 hour guided tour of the aquarium that stopped for food and drinks 3/4 of the way through. A quick note about the Cairns Aquarium, they are very conservation focused and are responsible for maintaining breeding populations of otherwise extinct species.

The vegan menu is a good size, if a bit overpriced, and left me feeling catered to and not an afterthought.
For mains we had the Penne Pasta and Chickpea Safron Curry. The chickpea curry was rich in flavour, but slightly thinner than I prefer curry to be. I only had a small amount of the Penne pasta, but my wife said she loved it. The meals were good, but probably a bit expensive for what you got.
Desserts in the other hand were amazing. I have no idea how they managed to get the vegan chocolate and peanut butter cake to taste as moist and flavourful as it did. It had none of the graininess I’ve associated with most vegan choc cake. I can’t comment on the banana loaf, because I basically inhaled it. It was that delicious.
A delicious dinner. Most of what you’re paying for is the experience of eating next to the aquarium tank. It is disappointing that a conservation focused aquarium has a restaurant that serves fish, but the vegan menu is a good start.

The vegan menu seems to have changed from what is depicted in previous reviews. There was nothing on the savoury menu that I couldn't easily make at home for a fraction of the price. Hot tip for restauranteurs: your menu shouldn't exasperate me in its brazen unimaginativeness.
Read moreOn the plus side, they did have some decent vegan desserts on offer. I ended up just getting chips and a chocolate mud cake while everyone else had seafood. I left Dundee's wondering why on earth I bother with these sh*thouse carnist eating establishments and wishing I'd stayed home and saved my money.

Separate vegan menu available with a wide variety of options. We had the pumpkin penne and chickpea curry which were both delicious! Even our waitress was vegan.
