Vegan?! You'd never know! 🍩 - Edit

Super tasty doughnuts, all vegan, taste just as filthy as dairy. Nothing is compromised, go!

Pros: tasty, good price

Cons: could be a bit larger

PB&J Donuts!!! - Edit

Damn these donuts are awesome.
I seriously think anyone would have a hard time guessing they were vegan if you didn't tell them.

So many flavours to choose from, but my favourite so far has been the PB&J.

So, So Donuts - Edit

Anytime I see a vegan place...especially one with donuts I always want to support it 100%. So I made sure to stop by.

Would love to say that these were the best vegan donuts I've ever had but just can't do so. Good donuts and great to have a vegan option in the city though.

Pros: 100% vegan

Cons: Not the best I've ever had

Oh my... - Edit

One of the many surprise gifts I have received since becoming a dedicated herbivore, is discovering that vegan doughnuts are way better than the typical traditional ones. This is doubly true with the Lemon Poppyseed one I had at Dun-Well's LES shop today.

I was put off at first, because all the options were glazed, but it was delicious! No greasiness; no overly sweetness. The glaze was tangy and fresh tasting. The doughnut was soft and faintly sweet. I plan to sample more varieties in future.

I also tried the Peanut Butter Cup gelato. The texture was more like a granita, but the flavor was spot on and pleasing. I would have it again.

I hope they try a gluten-free doughnut option soon!

Pros: All vegan, Excellent quality doughnuts, Lots of flavors

done well, really really well!! - Edit

Stopped in and had a Homer (oh the childhood memories of the Simpsons!). By far the best doughnut I have had vegan or not. So light and fluffy, not even a hint of heaviness/greasiness of most doughnuts. And the frosting was exceptional! Not to mention that the spot itself is unassuming and quant! They were so good that it makes me want to move to the neighborhood!!

Pros: perfect specimen of knotted dough, relatively cheap , nice staff

Does the Original Store Justice - Edit

Second location of the flagship Dun-Well in Brooklyn. A lot smaller, but still a good variety on most days, and exceptional service. I've even passed by at the end of the day and the doughnuts are still fresh.

Went here on a trip to NYC with a non-veg friend and she loved them! She didn't know they were vegan until I told her mid-donut!

delicious doughnuts! - Edit

Nice little place - I tried two of the donuts and a vegan horchata iced latte! Had never had a horchata before so didn't know what to expect - didn't love it but that might be just me! Doughnuts great tho. Would like to try their Brooklyn branch which has a bigger selection also, but plenty of choice here!

Best donuts I ever tried - Edit

This small café is located outside of the touristic center. But if you are visiting to NYC, you just have to visit Dun-Well.

I did not realize that I will have some vegan donuts anymore, but yes, they exist. And they are so freaking good. I doubt if I may have tried any better before.

I ordered 6 to share with other person, but my favourite was maple-walnut flavour. The coatings are very tasty (excepting almond, it tasted too much of aroma) but the dough was perfect.

They made me a believer! - Edit

I've slowly come around to Dun-Well. When I first tried them several years ago at their Bushwick location, I hated them... mainly because the staff downright sucked! They were all your stereotypical hipsters that were too cool for school, or for serving you donuts. I think it made me not enjoy the donuts because I was not amazed by them like the rest of the city.

Fast forward to present day, I went to their East Village location and was pleasantly surprised with how crazy nice this staff was! They made eye contact and everything!! I ordered a half dozen donuts and then started to understand why everyone loves them... these donuts tasted magical! I'm now a believer. They have a few cake donuts too (my fave) which are great, I just wish they were a wee bit bigger. All in all, Dun-Well has won me over and I feel spoiled to have both them and Cinnamon Snail in the city.

Done Well Dun-Well Doughnuts - Edit

This is a sweet micro-shop version of their original outpost in Bushwick. Same vegan donuts shipped in from their flagship bakery in Brooklyn. Great informal atmosphere (considering its micro environs). Friendly service in a small space, but it doesn't give the 10% discount for Woodstock Farm Sanctuary members. What's up with that? I had to deduct one star. Still the most bestest vegan donuts in creation.

Updated from previous review on 2016-08-29

Pros: Best donuts maybe anywhere, Awesome vegan ice cream

Cons: Too small to be as laid back as in Bushwick. , Dropped the 10% disc. for Woodstock FS Members
