Vegan options mostly eliminated - Edit
Over the last few years they’ve slowly gotten rid of most prior vegan options on the menu. They use beef tallow for frying now.

Used to be the best but now just like everywhere else - Edit
This used to be my favorite restaurant in Minnesota and I’m from Minneapolis! Two weeks ago they changed their menu and got rid of all the vegan options except one. They used to make almost anything vegan. Now they just serve avocado toast…It was both heartbreaking and disappointing.

Not for vegans or vegetarians anymore - Edit
My honey and I were so bummed to arrive at one of our favorite breakfast spots yesterday morning and find that many of the non-meat items on the menu are now being fried in beef tallow. We waited for a table for half an hour only to sit down and look at the menu and realize there wasn’t a single thing for us.
Read moreI reached out to the business for some clarification and to ask for one of their recipes since we won’t be able to eat there anymore. The owners explanation was that frying in rendered cow fat is the best way to make everyone happy. Lol. This used to be one of our go-to spots. SUCH a loss 😭
Cons: Not vegetarian friendly, Not vegan friendly

Decent option - Edit
They have 3 labeled vegan options for breakfast, it’s nice that they have at least those! Tried the omelette and i remember loving it a couple years ago but it wasn’t as good this time, maybe just an off day. They added a ton of vegan sausage too whereas before, it was mostly veggies. Huge portions.

Delicious! - Edit
Two breakfast entrees, a lunch wrap & multiple sides were identified as vegan as ordered. I had the besan chille (chickpea omelet) plus a side of red flannel hash & it was great! Try the dill pickle hot sauce made in Thunder Bay (or a hotter choice). You can see the vegetables growing in the boxes outside & archway trellises.

Yum - Edit
I don’t get here as much anymore due to the limited daytime hours, and there are less vegan options. But the options they have are still as amazing as ever. I love the korean brussel sprouts but tried a different feast today!

Duluth favorite! - Edit
Love this place! My carnivore husband took me here the first time. Good vegan gf options. A bit disappointed recently, as they took some of my favorites off the menu. On the bright side, they also added drinks with alcohol.

Went for breakfast, had the garbanzo bean enchilada with red flannel hash. Delicious! Love that there is a clearly vegan section on the menu, no need to go through an endless list of modifications to non vegan dishes. Our waitress was super good, friendly and efficient!

Hmmm. - Edit
I really enjoyed the Duluth Grill a few years ago. Today, I drove up from Minneapolis with 2 friends and insisted on going there for lunch. There were four vegan/vegetarian options on the menu. Our server mentioned other things could be made vegan as well, though it was hard to picture which ones. Also, I like to see what a restaurant is inspired to intentionally offer as the vegan option(s). So, I ordered the ‘vegan bowl’ and a glass of water. It was $22 with a tip for this one item. I guess I was surprised when it came out tasting like a mixture of canned food items and flavorless sauces. The house made walnut ‘meat’ had good texture but no flavor. The whole dish was dominated by an over abundance of stringy cooked onions and green peppers. I’m not a fast food fan, but I honestly think Chipotle and Taco Bell make a better version of this dish.

Amazing! 5 stars for flavor! - Edit
Food was delicious and interesting. The flavors were complex, big portions, satisfying, 4 great vegan options, the Thai-sghetti is a raw zucchini noodle dish. Prices were not too steep but the food speaks for itself! Great service as well, friendly staff and fast water refills.

Worth the price! - Edit
Although this restaurant was on the pricey side, the food was spectacular! There were only a handful of specified vegan labeled options on the menu. I got the vegan bowl which was like a burrito bowl. The portion was huge and everything tasted very fresh. I would definitely recommend that dish! For dessert, I got the vegan pumpkin pie and WOW that was the best pumpkin pie I have ever eaten in my life!!! If you get nothing else, get the pumpkin pie!!!

There were a few vegan options, they are marked which is very helpful. My dish had polenta cubes which were surprisingly pretty good. Make sure to check your food though before you eat it because my friend with me found some unwanted ingredients.
