"Bravo!" Good breakfast in a well cared for cafe - Edit

Having read so many glowing reviews of Dulcamara Bio Vegan Bistrot, I'd saved the place and hoped to have our first breakfast in Verona here. Unfortunately they were closed due to it being Easter Monday (which was clearly posted in their window), so my boyfriend and I ate elsewhere. I'd planned a surprise trip to Venice and this place was in the perfect location to reveal my surprise, so we headed here in the late morning before our train.

We were warmly welcomed with a smile as we entered and were given the English menu. They only had one to share between the two of us which they were extremely apologetic about, but that didn't matter at all. It was nice to have been told.

The atmosphere, although we were the only two people there when we arrived was warm and homely, and you could clearly see that they take a lot of pride in the place. It's bright, airy, and very clean. The bathrooms were immaculate, something too often missed by cafes and restaurants.

We ordered the pistachio topped cheesecake, the chocolate cream filled croissant, a cappuccino and a soy hot chocolate to eat in. Everything was delicious, the base of the cheesecake was perfect and my croissant was just as flaky as you'd expect.

The croissants were so good that we ordered two more to go (and got the jam filled ones that were just as tasty). We ordered a chickpea breakfast burger in a sesame bun filled with vegan mayo, red onions and an abundance of green leaves. We ate this on the train with a glass of wine each, and wished we'd ordered two to go it was so good. The burger came with a side order of diced roasted potatoes and red onions which left us both satisfied.

Although our bill came to €25 we feel like it was well spent (1 x wedge of cheesecake, 3 x croissants, 2 x hot drinks, a vegan breakfast burger with a huge side dish). We both felt like it was well worth the wait and will certainly go there again when we return to Verona.

Everything was amazing - Edit

The place was really beautiful, not in a big street but it was a really comfortable place with lots of light and plants. I arrived a little late but they still have a few options to choose from. The food was amazing! plus I asked for stuff to go and they gave me biodegradable package, bag, and bambú made cutlery. The service was great too, they were really nice and acomodate to our language. So I had a really great experience. Must go back!

Pros: eco-friendly, the space is amazing, the owner was really nice

Huge, Tasty Sandwiches - Edit

This place is a little out of the centre, closer to the train station, so it can be convenient if you're travelling. We went at lunchtime and I had the kebabra, which was so good and supremely filling. My partner had the delicato (breaded tofu sandwich), which was really nice too. The cupcakes looked delicious, but we were just too full from the gigantic sandwiches! We got two apricot croissants to takeaway for breakfast the next day, and they were really good.

Disappointed - Edit

I was sad because of the good reviews but...
I take the menu of the day and it was too basic. It was something that you could do by yourself. My friend take a salad it was too disappointed to. The salad was made of fresh salad, kale ,carottes and a little bit of tofu (from the bag open and put on the salad) without seasing!!. They were friendly but it doesn't taste nothing. And the cake wasn't tasty (to much alcool).

Pros: Nice people, Nice place

Cons: far from the center ( 5min), taste not so good

They were almost closed but we're happy to feed us and another couple they came in. Really delicious home style food. a lot of flavour. decent price and really lovely staff. We had two different soups and these delicious meatball things (like half meatball half falafel.)

Cons: a bit out of the city centre

outstanding customer service / friendly atmosphere - Edit

I came to Italy for a few days and was desperate to find a place in Verona that would make me a customised vegan birthday cake. Even thought Dulcamara vegan bio bistrot is not a bakery, Monica has organised me one!
The cake was amazing!! Furthermore, she even messaged me a few days later asking if I was happy with it!
I also had some food before going back to UK and once again, I wasn't disappointed! Differently to most of the vegan places, they have a lot of healthy, nutritious and yummy options!
Very friendly atmosphere and cheap too!

Fresh and fast - Edit

I sat down for lunch around 13:00, and ordered some hemp pasta salad and a glass of coke (some sort of bio coke). It came instantly (less than a minute, as it was pre prepared). I got some carrot cake (I think) for desert, it was the softest and nicest cake I've had in a long time!

Overall friendly staff, and nice and fast service.

Also met some lovely people brother/sister travelling together, they were seated next to me by the staff, which I think was great as I haven't talked to that many vegans here.

I can very much recommend this place, especially for a snack or lunch.

Pros: Friendly staff, Fast service, Great, cheap dishes for a light lunch

Cons: Outdoor seating would be great, but the location w

So happy they stayed open for me! - Edit

Lovely little find, slightly outside central Verona, but please do pay them a visit! I arrived at 1525, unaware they closed at 1530 but they still welcomed me with all smiles and let me stay for some food. Lovely fresh food and great team.

Wonderful organic vegan spot! - Edit

Dulcumara is just outside the Centro and is fresh, light and open as far as atmosphere. The brioches are the bomb and the veggie burger is great! The seitan is very flavorful. Had one of the quiches too, it was ok, pretty light in flavor.

They sometimes have donuts and different desserts like tiramisu, carrot cake and cupcakes. They serve breakfast pastries and lunch/early dinner. They have gluten free options, I saw a quinoa with veggies dish. They had some pasta dishes that looked good too. They change their menu often, they had to print one up for us because we came right before lunch was ready.

The staff was very friendly!
