Great sandwiches - Edit
Delicious vegan sandwich for me and meat sandwich for my husband. Lots of choices, friendly staff very close to the entrance to the Vatican. Keep in mind if your are particular about your food touching non-vegan food you should ask for separate sandwich boards. This place is well worth the stop.

Rustikale Bedienung, Grossartige vegane Sandwiches - Edit

Super Paninis, great Italian cafe/bar - Edit
So wonderful to have interesting and super tasty vegan and vegetarian options in the panini menu. Servings are generous and the bread is really tasty, with choice between white and wholemeal. We had one vegan and one vegetarian option between us, and both were really delicious! Staff are friendly and kind too. We highly recommend this place!

Bland but filling - Edit
Despite the sandwich looking amazing, it was very bland. I had the "Vegan Metronia" on wholemeal bread.
Read moreThe bread was very crispy and the veg was quite watery.
The other vegan options were spicy which is not my thing but to be fair, they are customisable so if there's something you dislike then you could swap it out.
My sandwich was served in a board next to (touching) my partners meaty sandwich which I didn't appreciate. There was also a bit of meat on "my side" of the board.
The sandwich was large, disappointing but filled a hole (teehehehe)
Pros: Convenient location near Vatican, Customised options
Cons: Cross contamination

2 1/2 - Edit
Weird unfriendly staff and 2 very oily sandwiches. Vegan options were labeled clearly, I’ll give them that.

Excellent sandwich! - Edit
There were three vegan sandwich options when I visited in August of 2025. I chose the Industrial, with "salami and cheese", artichokes, tomato, roquette and tapenade. DELICIOUS. Want one right now. Available on white or brown.

Lunch near the Vatican - Edit
We had lunch here after the Vatican Museum- it’s just round the corner, has a really clear vegan section on the menu, and does indoor or outdoor seating or takeaway. Rome generally offers more vegetable-based food for vegans, so it was a nice change to have a faux-salami and ch**se sandwich this time.

Great veggie sandwich - Edit
Dedicated vegetarian and vegan selections on menu. Quite a few with fake meat though, personally not my thing. Small inside and a bit diner/bar with high tables and stools rather than relaxing cafe vibe, or outdoors but on busy road. But fantastic (and huge) sandwich - aubergine, gorgonzola, walnuts, rocket, ? radicchio cream. Open really late some nights.

“Carne” y “queso” vegano - Edit
No hay muchas opciones pero probé uno y estaba exquisito. Si volvería porque es de los pocos lugares que he encontrado con sucedáneo de carne y de queso.

An ok snack before/after Vatican museums - Edit
Located a few steps away from the entrance to the Vatican museum (and the St Peter's Square), this is a convenient option to get a snack on your Vatican tour day.
Read more3 vegan pannini available. All not bad in taste, but sadly they arrived at our table cold. Also, the amount of food is not enough to fill a hungry stomach after hours of walking through the fresco-filled rooms of the museums.
For a 10€ sandwich, I would have expected not to be hungry anymore after eating it and this was sadly not the case. But then, everything near the main sights is crazily overpriced so maybe it's just me expecting too much.
Pros: Vegan choices, Vegan salami
Cons: Rather small servings for the price, Cold food

Great sandwich - Edit
First bit of food I had in Rome amd it was perfect. They use meat and cheese alternatives in a lot of the vegan options which I’m not the biggest fan of in general but they were actually okay here!

Use Your Loaf - Edit
Forget the Sistine Chapel (very overrated), come and marvel at the fine, bread-based works of art being created here. While not the cheapest sandwiches in the world, they aren’t exorbitant given the amount of wondrous filling they ram into each one. All three of the vegan options are gloriously tasty, so you can’t really go wrong with which ever one you choose. Or, like me, just get all of them and prepare for enlightenment.

Tasty sandwiches in Prati - Edit
Few vegan options, but tasty and a nice portion size, very filling. Two types of bread to choose from. Just a few steps from the Vatican Museum, to take away on the go or to eat in. Also serves soft drinks and different beers.

5 stars!!! - go here!! - Edit
best sandwich I’ve ever had in my life! Right after walking around the Vatican and almost passing out in 93 degree heat, my friends and i were so hungry. Such good options here they have a vegan salami that tastes incredible. Their spritz drinks are also delicious and affordable. I’ve had a lot of amazing sandwiches in Italy but this was by far the best! you must try!
