So good I finally made a happycow account - Edit
I'm told I can't leave a five-star review for a non-vegan business, but Dubai Grill is a great place. The owner is extraordinarily kind and generous and reflects a clear hospitality culture. In particular, the owner and workers always ask how I find the food (even though it's a walk-up situation, not table service) and remember past orders. When they switched to a new falafel recipe, they asked me how I thought it compared to the old one.
Read moreThe food is also outstanding. The tahini is rich and creamy, the grilled vegetables are tasty without being flooded in oil, the hummus is smooth, and it always tastes fresh.
It's also worth mentioning the location: Dubai Grill is very close to the east part of the UIUC campus, an area that is limited in its vegan options other than the often-closed Red Herring Restaurant. DG has vegan food clearly labeled as such on the menu, and the people working there understand veganism. It's relatively quick service (though not "fast food"), so you can get it between classes, and it's reliably delicious.
I am moving in a few months and will miss this place more than any other restaurant in Urbana.
Pros: Wonderful atmosphere, understand veganism, Food tastes rich and fresh, Reasonably quick and very reliable
Cons: Not entirely vegan

Vegan chef, great food - Edit
Excellent service and food. We ordered the middle Eastern vegan. Everything was so fresh and enough food for 2 meals (fresh falaffel, dolmas, homemade pitas, hummus, taboola). They were very knowledgeable about which sauces and pastries are vegan (including knowing about mayo and honey). I got a vegan tahini sauce which was so good, and the falaffel was the best I've had, crispy and moist on the inside. They said they make it fresh from scratch and the chef said he is vegan, so no wonder. It was priced a few dollars lower than the meat dishes, so I especially felt like they value their customers who order the vegan option.

Cons: Wanted more vegan pastry options
