Poor Service

I walked in at 11:55am and was the only customer. I asked several questions about the menu and ingredients and placed my order at 11:59am. By 12:40pm I had still not gotten my sandwich but saw several people after me order, get served, and leave. I went back up to the counter and inquired about my order and was told there was a system issue. The clerk went to the back and asked for my order to be expedited. Another 20 minutes went by and again several other meals were served. Finally my order came out at 1:01pm. There was no apology, no manager, nothing.

The sandwich did give me an upset stomach, so I’m guessing either the cheese or sauce wasn’t vegan as ordered (either as a result of my questions or the forgotten and expedited order made incorrectly).

While they did have a few vegan items on the menu and a few vegetarian ones that could be customized to be made vegan, the lack of basic restaurant and customer service skills kept me from returning despite being in the area for a week.

Pros: Fresh hummus with the side of terra chips

Cons: Lacks basic restaurant/customer service skills, Did not acknowledge a long wait

Deli and brewery side by side

Stop in the deli and grab some food. Multiple vegan options available. Head next door to the brewery and grab a meal with your food.

Good flavor

Quality paninis/sandwiches. There were a few vegan options, we got 2 sandwiches (green goddess and caprese) and they were both good. Tasty toasted bread. Pricey for a small sandwich and chips though.

Pros: Good bread used, Good flavor, Nice downtown location

Cons: Price for small sandwich

Fairly Good

There is only one vegan option which can be made into a sandwich or wrap. Service is quite slow but the sandwich is pretty good. The sauce and pickles tie the flavors together. Don’t love the side of pretzels.

Solid option in the UP

We were able to confidently order the sandwich and bowl (with modification. In hindsight I would ask that they sub gauc). The cauliflower wings are marked vegetarian on the menu. We inquired if they might actually be vegan, but they were not sure. We opted not to try them just in case. It’s still a solid option when in the area.

Important to note: the hours are listed differently on every platform. They were open every weeknight we visited by accessing through the adjoining brewery (By George).

Pros: Labeled vegan sandwich , Solid option for the area

Cons: Vegetarian items could easily be vegan

Sandwiches for vegan and gluten free

Did not eat here, but stopped in after seeing “vegan” and “gluten free” on window. They have a dedicated vegan sandwich option that looks good, as well as a gluten free bread and wrap option that you can sub if you’re GF like me. There were 2 other sandwiches that could be made vegan. They also have cauliflower wings. Sandwich looked good, and I’ll have to get it next time I’m in town. I wanted to write a review in case other GF vegans are out there; you know how difficult it is to find a sandwich!

Decent option, better beer

It’s connected to a great craft brewery, though you have to walk over to order. The menu is small in general, but has cauliflower wings (they were unfortunately out when I visited), and a beyond burger and veggie rice bowl that can be made vegan without the cheese/sauce. Neither were great, but it was pretty much the only option in January.

Great food happy to see they had options!

We were passing through Munising on our way to a kayak tour in the area. We stopped at ByGeorge or a quick drink hoping they might have something vegan (even just fries or a snack). We were pleasantly surprised to see they had a vegan chicken salad sandwich listed on their menu, and although they were out of it when we arrived, the staff was happy to make their portobello mushroom panini vegan by removing the cheese and aioli and adding sauerkraut and vegan mayo. The sandwich was delicious!

Pros: Friendly staff, Nice vibe, Great food

Cons: A little pricy, Only a few vegan options, Order in person only
