Dreamboat is such a rad spot. Decorated like an old-fashioned diner, it has the menu to match it. We ordered the Breakfast Sandwich, the Cheeseburger, Wavy Fries and a Vanilla Milkshake. It was all to die for. The burger was the standout in our opinion- we wished we ordered two. GO TO DREAMBOAT!!!

Crummy breakfast sandwich - Edit
I hope the rest of the menu is better, but the breakfast sandwich is not worth buying nor eating. The hollandaise is slimy (too much xanthin or other thickener) and has a bitter note, I’d guess from including lemon pith along with the zest. It’s otherwise not very flavorful, resulting in an oddly bland sandwich despite the very spiced sausage. The sliminess of the sauce and its placement between cheese and bun means the whole sandwich slides around when you eat it, inevitably making a big mess.

Before I went vegan, I used to love diners. This is definitely a slightly more upscale version than what I grew up on, but it was fun to relive the diner experience with a vegan spin! I love all of their concepts, so I was really excited for this to open, and it did not disappoint. The food was great and the drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic) were good! My only complaint was I personally thought the pistachio matcha (as is, perhaps you can ask for a modification) was way too sweet. However, I am admittedly a bit of a matcha snob, so that might just be me.

The menu is very limited, that’s ok when the food is incredible. I ordered a hamburger and a vanilla shake. I can’t remember ever having a better burger, the shake was great also. If you only have time to go to one restaurant in San Diego like I did, I recommend Dreamboat.

My husband prefers their lunch cheeseburger but I prefer their breakfast sandwich. It's the best in SD. Love that the smashed patty is perfectly crispy.
Read moreThey make one of my fave matcha lattes of SD: iced pistachio matcha latte w housemade macadamia almond milk. Delicious! If it was slightly less sweet though, it'd be perfect. The date milkshake was smaller than expected and too sweet for my taste.

Stoked to finally have more vegan breakfast spots. The coffee drinks are great and unique and I love the limited menu selection for food. Sometimes it’s nice to just make it easy and have fewer really good items. the latke waffle was seriously next level- so crispy and flavorful but soft and perfect texture on the inside. loved the breakfast sammy as welll. We can’t wait to go back for lunch some time!

Stopped for a drink before our dinner at Vulture. What an awesome place! The wavy fries with kelp caviar? Yum! We ended up having g dessert here after eating at Vulture because our service was so bad there. Our server and the dessert were great here.

Visited the small diner over the weekend. The staff and service were excellent. My non-vegan partner and I enjoyed: the cheeseburger, wavy fries, the Yuba hoagie, Sporda pop, and milkshake. The milkshake was definitely the star of this meal!
