Sushi place with a lil extra

I love it when sushi places have vegan sauces. I love sauces. I’m a sucker for sauces. And garlic. And they had vegan garlic sauce. So that was dope.

I prefer chili mayo on sushi. And sweet potato. But it was still dope.

ANYWAY.

Awesome little restaurant. Friendly owner(?). Make sure to specify without milk / eggs cause the vegan options said omelette in it in the description which I felt was pretty funky. But he knew what I was talking about when I asked for it. And I asked again to make sure. So I assume the garlic sauce was actually vegan xD. I’ve been to funky asian places before but this one felt legit.

He was so sweet! I felt comfortable chilling and chatting for a while after the meal. (with my SO lol). Decent corner spot and ambiance!

The sushi was very very good. I’ve had better (those [censored] sweet potato rolls that were like 11/10) but this was very very good too. The garlic sauce was nice. I love sushi with extra sauce like that as I said. The plating was [censored] beautiful. Very pleasant to look at! You could feel the love and effort put into the food.

Pretty cheap as well considering the amount and ”extra effort” put into it. I loved the tiny avokado pieces on top of the maki rolls; made my day cause I love me some good avo. Delicious orange(! what) ginger too and just enough pickled onion to go around.

I tasted some tofu hars from my BFs plate and they had something extra sweet to them which I agreed was a nice touch.

I [censored] love sushi. Combining all the flavour pieces and dipping and everything feels slightly like an artform and somehow luxoriously decandent. Especially when it’s beautifully plated like it was here. I loved the experience.

Overall very very nice! This place had something extra without going all the way. I just felt like it lacked *something*; probably tastewise or consistency wise. I absolutely love sweet potato rolls and just keep comparing it to those. I love the crunch smoosh of the sweet potato; gaah.

Anyway.

I rate it 4.5/5. I recommend and would go again.

Pros: Beautiful plating. Price., Taste ([censored] garlic sauce💗rawr), Super friendly owner(?) and vegan miso!

Cons: They closed at 19😒boo! But it was good cause wet, had to get home😁lol.
