Bagel

I had a bagel and fries, it was filling and delicious. The vegan options on the menu are clearly marked. Cute setting with reading material available, dog friendly. The service honestly was just okay - I get that staff were busy but it was a good few minutes at the counter before we were even acknowledged.

The food was good

Went there for a stopp and the kitchen has been closed but the soup and salad were still available. I also took a smoothie, it tasted ok.
I got the vegan soup, and maybe it is a little detail, but they put diary butter on the side of the soup with a piece of bread.
The food was good and the sitting area was fine too.
It was ok for a little stopp.

Pros: Tasteful soup and salad, 2 vegan soups and 1 vegan salad

Cons: A bit expensive

DP1 Cafe

We stopped at the DP1 Cafe for a quick stop on our trip. They have a completely vegan breakfast (typical English) and there were also vegan wraps in the refrigerated counter. We thought the food was very tasty, but unfortunately we didn't like the tea.

Pros: Friendly staff, Some vegan options

Cons: Tea and water tasted weird

Vegan and gluten free options!

We had two different wraps and two different cakes, which were gluten free (also suitable for coeliacs) and vegan. Everything tasted great, especially the brownie is highly recommended! The coffee was also available with oat milk.

Lovely food, great atmosphere

A quirky little cafe with lovely helpful staff and choices for vegans. Even though the kitchen was shut they had a range of vegan offerings and were very happy to sort us out. Smoothies, vegan soups, vegan butter with the toast, delicious beans and a range of plant milks. If you get there before 2:00 the kitchen is open and there’s more on offer.

Nice food, friendly staff

Came too late for the vegan breakfast, so we had a nice bagel with pesto and roasted capsicum and a curry wrap. Apricot brownie for dessert.

Decent options in Greymouth

Nice cafe with a hippie vibe right at the waterfront, nothing fancy though. Staff are really nice, well informed about veganism, are able to offer vegan options/replacements, and the service is fast.
I was craving their cauliflower schnitzel burger, however, it was unavailable on the day of my visit, but I was offered an alternative burger which was on the daily menu. The fries were really good, the burger nothing special really, the patty seemed to be made of mashed potatoes and broccoli perhaps...? But I appreciate they tried at least since my expectation was low.
I noticed the soup of the day was also vegan, as well as one of the displayed cakes. The place was busy so I guess it's popular with locals.

Pros: Well informed staff, Lots of seating, Decent vegan options on the menu

Lots of vegan options

Impressed with the amount of kai choice, and even dairy free frappes. Had a burger which was delicious and a yum slice from the cabinet.

Fantastic food, super friendly staff

Just what we needed after the train ride over. The staff had lots of vegan options for us. Yummy soy hot chocolates, soy coffee, curry wrap, pumpkin soup, and polenta chips.
Highly recommended this place. Nice chilled atmosphere too.

Stylish café!

What a gem of a retro palace! Inviting and fun, DPI served up a great coffee and a vegan slice (with a cute cake fork!) leaving me keen to sample more. I’ll be back!
