The owner operates two restaurants here on the main walking strip: one is vegetarian. Large lunch and dinner menu with Thai dishes as well western style fries and wraps, pasta, shakes, and smoothies. Despite the name, this establishment is vegetarian. Open Mon-Sun 11:00am-11:00pm.

all traditional Thai dishes can be veganised here ! they have fake meats such as shrimp and chicken listed ok the menu although I did not get round to trying them. very big selection on the menu. thai dishes, western dishes, sandwiches, falafel and more. very friendly staff. I ordered falafel sandwich twice and it came different both times . it says on the menu baguette, but once came in a pitta with loads of salad with cucumber, next time came on a baguette with only lettuce and tomato.

The place is like a library/restaurant Where you can really relax and play some 4in a row. I ordered a Thai curry with vegan duck It was delicious, the price is also quite cheap for the area, overall a great experience

They currently have a great variety of options that allows for a lot of adjustments. For example, four or five different ways to make a Massaman curry depending on what you want in it. The menu is affordably priced, and the portions are good. Absolutely love it!

I really liked the fact that you can sit in a place where no meat or fish are served next to me. Thank you for that. We also got to play “four in a row” after placing our order. Don’t worry, it’s not because the order takes so long. It’s just fun. And I won.

Staff were understanding of veganism and I was reassured on my first visit that pretty much everything is vegan in their huge menu unless it specifies that it contains egg. Think I ate here 5 or 6 times out of the 7 meals I had on the island (only other was a 7 Eleven lunch). Enjoyed everything I tried, which was something different each time, but I enjoyed the most the Massaman curry and the Thai Red curry.

We ate here exclusively during our trip to Phi Phi and enjoyed everything we tried. The menu is so large with the most vegan options I’ve ever seen. I would recommend the red Thai curry and the Mia Thais.
Read moreThe owner is a lovely man always wearing a smile who is currently running the restaurant almost on his own. Whilst before the pandemic he had 13 staff helping him and 2 kitchens running (one for the vegetarian side and one for the meat side of the business) now he only has the help of 2 with one kitchen serving both sides. Because of this don’t expect fast service in the evening when it’s busy but games of connect 4 are provided so you don’t get bored.

Serves vegetarian and vegan food. All kinds of curries and typical thai food but also western kitchen. We had a very good pad thai, massaman curry, red curry and pizza 😋 the cocktails are also very good and not too expensive. very friendly staff and nice Ambiente! You can play games while waiting for the food.

Best vegan restaurant in Phi Phi! - Edit
I ate here most days whilst in Phi Phi because the options were so varied! They have a huge menu and all different cuisines. I have ordered the pad see ew, massaman curry and the carbonara. The staff are so friendly and accommodating. They have so many meat substitutes, like tofu and soy protein, veggie sausage and veggie chicken. Everything is vegetarian, but not all vegan so please specify to staff that you would like the vegan option. Definitely somewhere to try while there!

So many options! As a vegan, it’s hard to find a place with more choice than this, and on the island, for eating more traditional food, this is where you want to be. I had the green curry and it was spicy and delicious. Definitely recommended. Only drawback was that I thought I was still hungry after the meal, but I was able to make it to bedtime without eating more, so maybe it was actually the right portion size??

Best vegan Pad Thai - Edit
They have a huge menu of veggie and vegan food - you have to specify if you want something vegan. We went a few times and had the fried rice, pad Thai (80 bhat or £2) mushroom wontons spring rolls and mango sticky rice. They also have vegan mock meats like vegan shrimp or chicken. Their cocktails are around £2.50 (100 bhat). Was all delicious, especially the pad Thai.

Tasty food. Asked for spicy and actually got spicy. Large range of vegan meats which so far this is the only spot I’ve seen that has options. Shrimp chicken fish duck meat ball sausage ham etc.

The food was decent, the fake meatballs were nothing amazing and the fake duck was very mushy. Aside from that there was a good amount of veg and the pricies were, again, alright. They have a massive menu with heaps of vegan options, which is definitely a reason to go back as I may have picked one of the less thrilling dishes

Dow Veggie restaurant sits opposite their non-vegan restaurant on the strip. As my friends are not vegan and this was their fave restaurant (they’ve been to Phi Phi 5 times) I could eat here every day but ask for the vegan menu from across the road.

As a vegan I’ve had their pad thai, Green curry with veggies and gypsum, spring rolls, papaya salad, fried tofu, tofu and cashew nuts and hummus with falafel and probably a few more I can’t remember.
Totally recommend. Even on Phi Phi English isn’t great and sometimes you end up with milk or eggs- here is a blessing and SO easy.... pages of options. Anyone who’s rating this any less then 5 stars should remember that this is a tiny island rated for their meat and seafood and places like Dow are few and far between and are doing a fab job. Great atmosphere and service. Always busy and buzzing. Do ittttt!

So, this is a difficult review to write. Why? Because, as a staunch Vegan I was over the moon to dine at Dow Vegetarian (Restaurant sign says 'Dow Vegan'). The atmosphere was great, the place packed to the rafters and the service was fab! The addition of 'Connet 4' whilst waiting for food to arrive was fun as were the hundreds of books, free to take (A kind of mini library). The food was delicious and the menu was extensive to say the least! The prices were very very reasonable indeed, cheap in fact! What's not to like I hear you cry?
Read moreSo, across the path (5 yards away) sits the sister restaurant 'Dow Restaurant' a FISH restaurant!!!! During my visit a large party of diners arrived at said fish restaurant however the restaurant was full. So, 'Dow Vegan' decided to accommodate the diners in their restaurant! A Vegan restaurant serving non vegan/vegetarians FISH. Needless to say I was bitterly disappointed. How can the owners advocate Veganism but on the other hand kill beautiful fish for non vegans! To add insult to injury, they play coral fish images on their tv screens! Odd choice. Look at these beautiful fish in out oceans, then come on in and eat them!
