Great vegan options

The cafe is loaded with vegan options - more vegan than not. And lots of GF. I love that they list ingredients. I’ve been coming for years and a huge fan of the sweet potato red lentil soup.
Plenty of grocery items, although prices and produce freshness can’t compare to larger stores. A number of specialty items you can’t find elsewhere though.
Free parking.

Pros: Great cafe, Local & friendly

Cons: Bulk items are prepackaged in plastic

Amazing Cafe and Store

This Cafe cater very well to vegans and will confirm how you want your meal with you. There isn't much of a mark up for adding topping to sandwiches so I've hit this place up, quite a lot. I love the TLT, Reuben and Big Bean Burrito.

Pros: Affordable menu , TASTY home-like cooking

Great store, selection, juices and cafe

I'm so glad I found this place. I went in to get a bite and walked out with a huge tote bag of groceries. Lots of organic items and things you may have had to go to Portsmouth for. You dont!

I had the vegan Reuben wrap and the beet, carrot, and some other things immune juice. Both were great. The soups looked so good and so did the herbs and tea room. I can't wait to return!

Good Selection

I haven't tried the cafe. The store has a good selection of heath foods and pills. There are some items in bulk, for example, a few grains and beans. One unique feature is spices in bulk. You can measure and buy as much as you want. Also a large selection of herb teas.

The only thing I couldn't find was whole soy beans. Who makes there own miso nowadays anyway? Wait! They do have soy beans. I should have asked.

The staff was friendly and helpful.

Edit: I have since tried the Cafe, buying muffins and soups, both of which are great!

Great soups and smoothies! Bulk items and friendly staff

Nice local natural foods store, a little expensive but the staff is always friendly and helpful. Good selection of bulk items including beans, nuts, seeds, spices.

The cafe in the back has four+ soups daily. Choices vary but they generally have 1-2 constant ones including red lentil soup/chili (my favorite). Good variety of smoothies and yummy desserts. (Sandwiches too, including a hummus tofu wrap.) Everything is made right there, and they provide little signs listing each ingredient and noting "vegan" "gluten free" etc.

Loaf and Ladle breads available too (for folks who miss the classic Exeter, NH restaurant).

Pros: Soups made fresh daily , Bulk items, Friendly staff

Cons: Some products can be a little expensive

Update: as of May 2019, the cafe is now offering Jackfruit on a couple of sandwiches. I had the BBQ Jackfruit with homemade vegan Cole slaw, on fresh focaccia. Delicious.
Also, a variety of vegan/vegetarian desserts like dense chocolate brownies, no-bake oatmeal/chocolate/PB cookies, muffins, etc. Hard to resist, as is their baked tofu, prepared on-site.

A Hidden Gem of Casual Veg Dining

This place is great! It's located inside the Natural Foods Store, which is just a block or so from downtown and very conveniently located. Inside the store is a small seating section and, in the warmer months, they set out a few tables outside as well. The food menu is mostly sandwiches and soups, with vegan pizza and a vegan burrito also available. There's also an extensive smoothie menu. I'm very partial to the vegan Reuben sandwich.

Pros: Vegan options, Reasonably priced, Friendly staff

Cons: Small seating area
