Delicious - Have to try the vegan Nutella - Edit
Absolutely delicious meal at double dutch - so amazing they have a separate vegan menu. I took ages to choose because they all sounded so good!
Read moreI had a savoury and a sweet pancake and they were both really really tasty but the highlight for me was the pear and hazelnut sweet one. The vegan nutella is absolutely to die for!!!
Staff were all really friendly too.
Only downside I would say it's quite expensive for how much food you get, it's not very filling.
Pros: Fully vegan menu, The vegan nutella, Friendly staff
Cons: Quite expensive, Doesn't fill you up

Double or Nothing - Edit
Fantastic vegan range. Reasonable price but not very filling so you will want something else with it (like a dessert). Staff very friendly and welcoming. Quirky location and everything is very kitschy. Not a huge amount of tables so you will expect to have to queue for a table at peak times.

This is actually a 5 star review - Edit
They might have meat options, but they have a full vegan menu, all the drinks have alternative milk available, and the food is to die for. Loveliest staff and just a really nice experience in general. Can’t wait to visit York again so I can come back to this place.

A massive vegan menu with specials - Edit
It was a very pleasant experience with lots of options on savory or sweet pancakes. And they can make any hot drinks vegan. Reasonably priced as well

Great Selection, but Not Faultless - Edit
Impressive selection of both sweet and savoury dishes that are undeniably tasty. However, I have more than once had an extraordinarily long wait and the cost is certainly on the high-side.

Although not exclusively vegan, this pancake restaurant had a massive vegan menu of sweet and savoury pancakes. The vegan bacon and maple syrup pancake was amazing.

Fantastic vegan menu! - Edit
All I wanted for my birthday was vegan pancakes! So after finding this place on TikTok, we drove to York. We had to queue outside but was only waiting 10-15 minutes, this was enough time to study the menu… and change our minds 27 times! There is that many vegan options that we were spoilt for choice! We opted for savoury pancakes and sweet beverages! Would definitely go back.

Come for the banana milkshake, stay for the pancakes. - Edit
The banana milkshake here is the best I've ever had. I do genuinely go to Double Dutch for that, but I always have a pancake too. They have a great vegan menu covering both sides of an A3 sheet. You can choose from the standard options or make your own. It's a really lovely little place, very cosy and the decorations are quite quirky. They made me smile whilst waiting! I ended up making my own and went with bananas, flaked almonds, peanut butter and maple syrup. It comes topped with a couple of strawberries and chocolate buttons (also vegan) and it all made for one delicious pancake. Definitely worth a visit.

Great pancakes - Edit
I am part French so I'm quite partial to a 'proper' pancake as opposed to the American style ones so I was delighted to hear of this place right in the city centre and had to try it out. The location is great and the decor is wonderfully unique and quirky. As with a few independent places in Central York, it is small and we had to leave our pram by the front door / till area. Not sure what would happen if another family with a baby had turned up (maybe they did, we were seated upstairs so no way of knowing!). They did have a high chair though.
Read moreThe vegan menu is separate and big - I took a bit of time trying to decide what to have! My 5yo had strawberry and blueberry pancake with a strawberry milkshake - the latter was massive and he could just about drink half (they don't do a kid's size). I tried to finish it but it was overly sweet and tasted 'artificial'- likely the result of what appeared to be strawberry syrup drizzled in it.
I had the breakfast pancake and it was great. I was sad I was sharing with my 8mo as he was demolishing his share and wanting more! I could definitely have eaten a whole second savoury pancake and had a sweet one for dessert, but time didn't allow as we were due elsewhere (plus it would have ended up quite expensive).
I had a lemon ice tea and on ordering thought £2.75 was a bit dear but the jar was quite large and I couldn't finish it so good value after all.
Staff was lovely - the waitress clearly repeated our order back to us, noting which parts were vegan and said the same on bringing the food, so I felt reassured they took things seriously (the facon is "this isn't bacon" so that was an easy tell).
Pros: Separate vegan menu, Attentive staff, Fun quirky decor
Cons: Slightly expensive for portion / filling size, Space is an issue if you've got a young family

Nice pancakes! - Edit
Popped in for brunch one day. It's a cute & quirky little place with a whole menu filled with vegan goodness! You can choose from a wide variety of sweet & savoury pancakes. We tried the Italian one with homemade pesto and the Mexican one with guacamole & salsa. Both were very nice. The coffee is good too! Recommended.

Nice to see a pancake place with so many vegan options! - Edit
This super cute & cosy traditional pancake house is located right in the "vegan quarter" as like to call it, and so it should be, as it has a full separate vegan menu with just as many options as the standard one! It's clearly very popular so be prepared to wait a bit for a table at busy times, but once we were in, the service was very quick and the pancakes were worth the wait! I had a vegan "French" which was delicious, but a little on the dry side, but I think if you picked one with a sauce or cheese/vegan cheese it'd be perfect. It is a little pricy, but it's unique and traditional, so I'll definitely be going again to try one of the many different options (or create my own as that's an option too!)
Read moreEDIT (12/2021):
Went again & this time I did create my own: I went for peanut butter, sweet chili sauce, peppers & caremelised onion (in hindsight would've just picked normal onion as it was a bit too sweet with the sweet chilli sauce!). I have to be honest, I was a bit disappointed that the only ingredient they actually added to the pancake was the peppers, while the rest were just in little pots to spread myself: this did mean there was more than enough topping, however it seemed a bit wasteful & was very faffy to prepare while everyone else could just tuck in. Still delicious though, just would probably recommend choosing savoury pancakes from the menu.

Lots of options - Edit
There's so much choice it's difficult to decide! A full vegan menu with a lot of both savoury and sweet options, at least some of the seasonal specials can be made vegan on request or you can choose the toppings to make your own pancake. Had a seasonal pancake which might have covered my weekly sugar allowance, but was definitely worth it

Cons: Sweet pancakes could be slightly less sweet, Quite a long wait to be seated
