Oh dosa… why are you the best? - Edit
Dosas are one of my favorite Indian treats, and Indian is one of my favorite cuisines. The dosas here are so good they should be legendary. We had the coconut tofu dosa with sambar, mango, and coconut chutney and the veggie pakoras. Every last bite was divine. I wish we had dosas like this in Portland.

Dosa! Dosa! Dosa! - Edit
Dosa Paragon at both the Yates street and Wharf street locations is absolutely delicious. I get the plain Dosa as I am on A Lectin Free diet. Friends and family love the masala Dosa a lot

App won’t let me update this, but we went back and were so disappointed in food quality. The tofu seemed off (sour) and everything was so salty and oily. Felt sick after dinner, will not be back

Delicious Dosa! - Edit
My partner and I ordered a masala dosa and Chana masala to share. The flavours were all amazing and we ended up still having left over chana masala which we ate the next day (it was still just as tasty cold!).

Unique for Victoria - Edit
Happy this place opened as most Indian places here don't do dosas.
Read moreI find their food a bit spicier than is usual for restaraunts here though so be warned.
I really enjoyed their potato masala dosa but it is spicy and the Indian tomato dip it comes with is also murder (yummy in tiny amounts).
I liked their sambar soup as well but it's a tiny bit on the hot side too (there are literal whole red chilies in it). The sambar is also crazy salty (and I don't complain about salt ever). Ordered it twice and each time it was salty enough to cause heart attacks so not a fluke. I was expecting there to be lentil in it like others I've tried but it's just veggies. I think the idea is you're supposed to dip the dosa in it (?) but the flavors really don't mesh well together.
I also tried their coconut veggie curry dosa and I wouldn't recommend it much. The curry is yummy (strong cardamon flavor) but I feel like it doesn't go well with the taste of the dosa and would be better ordered separately. I could also tell they used frozen carrot and green beans in it which tbh is just not as nice to eat despite the good flavor of the curry.
We also ordered their masala uthappam which is basically like an Indian pizza. Unfortunately found it kind of bland and best eaten with dip. Had the same experience with their vada lentil doughnuts. Lovely crispness but with a very mild flavor (but good!). I liked them but you really needed to eat with dip. Again, when combined with the sambar as intended, I found the taste kind of like cat food so they're best kept apart in my opinion.
Over all, after trying this place a few times, I'd say it's pretty decent but not spectacular. They're the only Indian place I know that does tofu curries so I really respect how vegan friendly they are.
Vegan options are clearly marked so this listing should be updated.

Nice easy, tasty and inexpensive option - Edit
I was thrilled to see a Dosa restaurant open in Victoria! I went there for the first time last week.
Read moreThe Dosa was spicier and tastier than other ones I have tried. I had the Onion Masala Dosa and spicy pakoras. The pakoras had a really nice spice to them.
Next time I will try something else. The only unfortunate thing is that while they used red onion chopped fairly finely, I had thought that the onions would have been sauteed first rather than raw.
I won't (so please don't) let that detract you from trying out this new gem in Victoria.
Pros: Many vegan options, Tasty
Cons: Location - easy to miss, Use disposable plastic cups and straws (in house)

South Indian Dosa in Victoria - Edit
My first visit to Dosa Paragon found a small, friendly spot located in a mini-mall, with a wide variety of South Indian dishes, many (like my favourite Dosa) both Vegan and Gluten-free.
Read moreA true husband and wife operation with mall seating for 20 or so, as well as take-out.
My Dosa, and my son's Gobi 65, were as tasty as any I have had in several trips to India - the chef having picked up his cooking skills from his mother there.
The owner goes out of his way to look after his vegan patrons. A worthwhile stop for a quick lunch, or easy dinner. I fell in love with South Indian dishes in Kerala and can't wait to get back and try the Idly/Vada combo, Uttapam and more.
Pros: Plenty of Vegan and Vegetarian items., Small place, friendly staff., Good value.
Cons: Located in a mini-mall - atypical dining setting!
