Serves meat, vegan options available. Indian restaurant featuring a mix of popular foods, such as the South Indian dosa and North Indian chaat, and lesser-known items. Vegan items are clearly labeled. Some staff members are vegan, and therefore know about veganism. The bakery also features vegan cakes. Open Mon-Thu 11:30am-9:30pm, Fri-Sat 11:30am-10:00pm, Sun 8:30am-10:00am, 11:30am-9:30pm.

Great experience - Edit
This is such a wonderful little restaurant- we love South Indian foods so were happy to find a restaurant on a recent trip to Maryland! The food was great. The menu clearly labels vegan options and server was very helpful in making sure all chutneys were vegan before they came out. It's attached to a vegan bakery and they brought us a serving of vegan strawberry cake (on the house) that was so amazing- light and fluffy- so that we ended up buying chocolate cake pops before we left (also amazing!!). We are happy to have found this place and would go back if we lived closer!

Variety of vegan options on the menu, including things I don't typically see available at other Indian restaurants in the area. Also many awesome vegan desserts!

Be careful - some items marked vegan are not actually vegan! - Edit
I do want to love this place because there’s a lot of main course options for Indian food. And it’s one of the few Indian restaurants I have found to make items with tofu. BUT I’m horrified that items that are marked vegan are served with chutneys that contain dairy. For example, the samosa is served with a green chutney that has dairy and the dosa and idli are served with a coconut chutney that has dairy. This should be disclosed on the menu or those items should be removed from vegan dishes. I shudder to think what would happen if someone who has an anaphylactic allergy to dairy orders these dishes marked vegan. I know to ALWAYS ask but what if people just relied on the menu? Please please ask your server if items contain dairy even if marked vegan.

Dessert - Edit
My coworker brought these vegan pastries into work one day and even the non vegans gobbled them up. Probably the best desserts I’ve ever had. The cakes are so light and fluffy. Of course I had to go back on my birthday since they have so many vegan cakes. I have yet to try the dinner menu though

I always get the Vada pav it’s a potato chickpea sandwich with a yummy mint chutney sauce. I was also pleasantly surprised to see that they had vegan cakes! I want to come back to try more of what they offer

Terrifying and Horrific Experience - Edit
Today I had a very terrifying encounter with the service staff. My order was not ready on time and Gopi the owner was belligerent and threatened to not give me the food that I had ordered. When I called him on it he threw my card down and refused to give me the food that I had ordered. This is the II time that this has happened in the last week. I am never going to the place again. This is the place that I was gracing for the last 5 years when it was Hot Breads. If it happens to a repeat customer, I shudder to think how they treat new customer. If I could rate this less than an one star I would.

Love this place - attached to a bakery, and filled with a ton of vegan options! So happy I ordered from here! There's a nice seating arrangement here for you to have a comfortable sit-down meal, but I had to corona-virus-takeout-order because of the restrictions in place.
Read moreAnyhow, they did not disappoint. They have dosas galore with all the good chutney (2 of them) and sambar, along with a hot sauce, and the uthappam comes with the same sauces. They are very generous, and you will probably have plenty leftover for your own devices later - I suggest potatoes... I really love their dosas because they have a good balance of filling and dosa, and the flavors are great. They are vegan and gluten free, so that's nice along with the uthappam, so you can order them all.
The appetizers are good too, they have deep fried cauliflower with a sauce that isn't my fav - tastes like General Tso's chik'n takeout sauce, yuck. They also have spinach pakora and a bunch of other vegan options, yum!
The main dishes are curries and biryanis, I suppose, like a coconut kurma curry-like dish, and of course aloo gobi and chana masala. The rice dishes are plentiful and well-spiced, and the servings are great portions. I love it! I can't wait to try more of them. Vegetable biryani is always a favorite, but they have other fun choices like tamarind rice and curd rice. Yum!
Dessert includes options like vegan cake and carrot halwa (vegan).
The folks who work here are very nice!
Pros: vegan options galore for dosas, chutneys, vegan uthappam
Cons: need gluten free vegan dessert

Amazing Food! - Edit
I have only been here for takeaway, so i can’t comment on their dine in service. However i can say that the staff is friendly and helpful. The food is really good. My family isn’t familiar with Indian food, but they raved about everything i brought home. This has become a weekly routine while under COVID restrictions. The vegan cakes are fantastic.
