The couple that own this restaurant were some of the nicest people we met on our Japan trip. Very reasonably priced food and always a delicious vegan option available. We only hope we can visit for a fourth time one day!

Good spicy curry, but only one vegan option - Edit
The curry was fantastic and made authentically by an Indian cook. He was very kind and chatted with us about how he came to run the restaurant. There was only one vegan option, so I couldn't see myself coming here super often. Additionally, the portion wasn't quite enough to match the price, in my opinion. Still absolutely recommend this place.

Love this place. The couple that run it are so friendly. They do one vegan option- vegan curry with chapati and rice. I guess what it is depends on the day, I got a delicious lentil curry and then could add some spicy pickle to it to give it a bit of kick. Small place, small menu but big flavours😄price was 780 and they gave me a free little pudding (vegetarian not vegan)

Beautiful Authentic Indian Curry - Edit
I have been touring Japan as a musician and very much doubted I would find anywhere vegan before my show in Nagano. The couple who own this place are so lovely, worldly and fluent in English. The man imparted loads of wisdom about the curry and culture and clearly cared a lot about the craft. We had a beautiful simple bean green curry but it was so filling and delicious especially with a side of pickles and added special spice mix and handmade hot chapati. The place is tiny! But super cosy and one of a kind!

Located in an outdoor food court, this is one of the most unusual restaurants I've visited. Run by a lovely couple (Indian and Japanese), service is friendly and efficient. My curry was delicious and was served with a freshly made chapatti. Highly recommended!

lovely couple run this place. cozy. one they have one vegan set and a veg thali which was vegetarian. service was great. and they were so kind to stay open when we called ahead very close to closing time. parking available. They sell various indian food stuffs too.

While simple (we had mixed Dahl and Chana Masala), the food tastes amazing and the service from the couple owners is incredible. They are so nice and caring, making sure you’re looked after the entire time. I would definitely give 5 stars if I could.

Seriously the best experience I’ve had in Japan. Owned and run by a beautiful husband and wife (and their young son) who cook everything from scratch. The vegan curry was sensational and they made me a vegan chai... even had a traditional sweet which was vegan. Even if you don’t come to Matsumoto for anything else, come to support this wonderful family and enjoy this amazing food. I’ll be there again tomorrow night... seriously!

Read moreWe visited twice while in Matsumoto and each time the food was delicious (we had the daily vegan curry and the vegan chai). The curry comes with rice, a papadum and a freshly made chapati. All delicious!
The owner is really lovely, speaks excellent English and was very friendly and full of useful information about the area.
Also - the menu is in Japanese and English.

Felt lucky to found the place open when we got to Matsumoto late into a rainy night. Their menu is small and all curry options. There is just one vegan option but it's very good and well-worth it! It's a home-cooked recipe so it has a very unique taste. The owner who is also the cook is very friendly who seemed like he is always up for a chat :)

Delcious Curry and Amazing Service - Edit
We had a super yummy curry with rice, a wheat flour chapati and a papadam. The couple the owned the place were really friendly and we were quite happy to have a conversation with them. They even offered seconds if we were hungry but it was really filling and enjoyable. This is must if you're a vegan travelling to Matsumoto:)

Cosy, homestyle dining experience - Edit
We went to this tiny yet lovely place tonight. It was pouring outside and both tables were taken. But we were invited inside anyway and had a really good homestyle lentil & bean curry and a perfect homemade chapati. The owner was incredibly friendly, bringing out plenty of stuff to taste and contributing to a cosy and hospitable Atmosphere. When we left, he offered us the leftover curry for takeaway. So nice! You should definitely check it out.

His food was amazing, home style and the amount we got for the price we paid was so generous. The place is small, but perfect, (I just felt bad that I kept elbowing the window when I moved!)

Authentic Home-Style Indian - Edit
This place most definitely deserves 5 stars! It is a small local restaurant with only two tables that offers a vegetarian and vegan curry. We had the vegan curry, which changes daily, adding more to the home-style the restaurant already has, today it was a chickpea based curry which was simply satisfying and delicious! After traveling for 3 months straight we definitely needed a homey dish and this really hit the spot, it felt as if we were eating at an Indian home where we can see and talk with the cook himself. The owner is super friendly and very passionate about cooking and deeply cares about the customer's satisfaction. We had a really nice long chat with him about everything really, but mostly cooking and eating vegan. He gave us many tips in eating vegan in Japan and even gave us free banana and coffee flavored soymilk, an extremely nice and approachable man. We wish we could return tomorrow, unfortunately they are closed on Sundays. If we are ever in Matsumoto again we will definitely be returning. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for home-style, authentic Indian curry. Also the vegan chai was very delicious, he even let us try a black pepper variation which was so surprisingly good!

Wish I could give this place 5 stars! (Happycow won't allow it for non-vegetarian restaurants.) Food here was awesome! Very homey Indian food at a cheap price. My bf and I both got the vegetarian curry and thought it was the best we've tried in Japan! (Usually vegetarian curries are kind of an afterthought to its meatier counterparts.) And the chapati was made to order. Also, the chef was the friendliest guy we've met during our five weeks in Japan! If I ever come back to Matsumoto I'll probably come here every meal haha. Hope this review convinces you!

Just had dinner at this fantastic restaurant. The food was absolutely 10/10, and the service was excellent. After days of craving Indian, this did not disappoint. i had the vegan curry twice and it was absolutely delicious and very filling. I would give it a 5 but the app won't let me do that. Try the chai as it was very tasty too. The owner was very kind and as the restaurant is quite small we could talk while he was cooking so a very nice atmosphere. 780 yen for the vegan curry if i remember correctly.
