when the non-vegan friends want to join you... - Edit

This is the perfect spot to have those non-V friends join for a bite. My kids love this place and so do I (for a treat), I always over indulge when I go here. Soo many yummy choices... ;)

Pros: food is amazing, pretty quick service for such a busy spot, friendly staff

Cons: you want to try everything! , pretty busy, but worth it, got to plan ahead

Great Place for Meat-Eaters and Vegans Alike - Edit

I was hesitant to eat at Doomie's because of some less than pleasant reviews, but I decided to try it out anyways when I came to visit Toronto. A lot of people complain that there are not any healthy vegan options here, but that's similar to complaining that McDonald's doesn't have healthy options. Both Doomie's and McDonald's are not trying to cater to being healthy. They are catering to comfort food. Nonetheless, the asada tacos and chimichanga are actually pretty healthy if that is a concern of yours. If it isn't, I definitely recommend the animal fries and fried mac n' cheese balls. They were great! My meat-eating family members also really enjoyed this place, so it is a huge win for me! My mom said it's the best vegan food she's ever had!

Pros: Excellent food, Friendly staff, Nice vibe

Cons: Not a lot of seating options

Excpeted more - Edit

I've been here three times, the seating is uncomfortable, the food tasted different each time I went (even though I ordered the same thing) and the cups and utensils appeared dirty and had spots on them.

Pros: large portions of food

if you're craving grease - Edit

I love the crispy chicken burger, the chicken fingers and the tacos. Everything else is sort of boring to me. I'm positive it's a matter of taste and not a true testament to the food. But be aware, this is not healthy vegan food.

indulge and be happy! - Edit

Hearty hella delicious comfort food. Indulge your cravings here and you won't be disappointed! The crispy chicken is my weakness! You will leave in a food coma and then feel like you need 3 hours of cardio but it's sooo worth it. Vegandale for the win!

Pros: Caesars! , Crispy Chicken! , Deep fried everything!

Tasty burger and milkshake - Edit

This is a great fast food place. I had the burger and shared a milkshake. I don’t think that I could have drunk the milkshake by myself (maybe I could have!) but the burger was tasty. It tasted like a fast food burger. The service was friendly and I liked the setup. It was in a great area too.

Pros: Milkshake

Looking for a vegan heart attack? - Edit

Look no further!

Doomies outrageous food is here! If you want filling comfort food you will find it here.

You will also find no salad. Don't even bother asking. In fact there is a sign saying so. If you thought maybe you'd like to counteract some grease with some green stuff - don't you dare even ask.

While I like the food, I don't like the attitude and vibe here. It's cool to see people of colour at vegan places (and I always see folks when I go) but other than that, the vibe is not cool. Or too cool. You be the judge. I'd rather go to Hogtown.

So while the food is pretty great, don't like the rest. So I only give it "fair".

Pros: Yummy fun food

Cons: attitudes, do they do take out now??, no veggies - they WANT to give heartattacks :)

Best burger ever - Edit

This is one of my favourite restaurants in the world. The vegan big mac was legendary. I love the decor, especially the vegan sidekick comics in the bathroom. I can't wait to come back.

Pros: Vegan big mac, Cool atmosphere

vegan fast food - Edit

This is the place to go if you are looking for vegan fast food. The food is okay, not the most flavorful and some things are way to greasy. If you are looking for healthy vegan alternatives, this is definitely not the right place!
The place is always packed so unless you have a reservation (which I am not sure if they even take any) make sure you plan to wait to be served.
Not the tastiest but there are some decent eats if you are craving junk food!

Pros: ALL Vegan , Fast Food

Cons: Small and crowded restaurant , Does not serve take-out / pick-up orders

How to get a seitanic following - Edit

Finally ventured into Doomie's after hearing so many songs of praise.
The experience was even better than expected.
The service was spot on; casual, real. They knew, and believed in the menu.
The food was larger portions than anticipated. I'm a big dude, and even I needed a doggie bag. Having said that, there was no loss of quality over quantity: I opted for Sriracha with my meal, but it sat untapped as my burg and fries were already plenty flavourful out the kitchen.
The atmosphere/decor was quite comfortable, entertaining and unique.
This is easily my new staple when I pass through Toronto. In the interim I hope they consider setting up shop in London or KW :)

LOVED THIS PLACE! - Edit

Aside from the awesome vegan wall art, the food was amazing! I got the classic vegan burger with "cheese" fries! I would rate it 5 stars if I could!

Pros: Entire menu is vegan

Half-decent food, kinda expensive - Edit

This is a popular place in town, but if you're looking for a good burger checkout Hogtown.

The prices are well above the diner-quality food, but the portions are all very satisfying.

Also some of the liquor/wines they've carried have not been vegan. Watch what you drink there.

Pros: Big portions

Cons: Expensive, Non-vegan liquor, Average quality food

The food and staff was really nice :) they had ran out of gluten free options, so they gave me more wraps instead. The cheese in the classic burger was really buttery and delicious.

yuuuuum - Edit

Went here for my birthday and loved it! Ordered the Big Mac (you have to ask, it's not on the menu) and a Bloody Mary. The burger patty was kind of disappointing but still delicious. They have milk shakes, desserts and tons of options all vegan, kinda pricey though. Will be back to try more!

Pros: dessert, vegan Bloody Mary , filling

Cons: pricey

NO DISAPPOINTMENT HERE!!!!! - Edit

Some of the best pub food I've ever had, vegan or not you've got to try this place. The menu has a whole list of specialty burgers, milkshakes, animal fries, mac n' cheese bowls, tasty appetizers, deserts, and best of all alcohol;) Between my friend and I we tried the Oreo milkshake, tacos, crispy chicken burger, fried avocado, and mojito. The tacos had a simulated meat and not in the form of a ground, but steak which was unexpected but tasted as super 'beefy'. They make their cheese in house aswell and I've got to say it's some of the best vegan cheese I've ever tasted. Nothing like that Dayia crap. Will totally be back many more time and hopefully soon!! :))

Pros: full bar, cheese is made in house

amazing - Edit

Such a great experience, everyone was super nice and efficient, the food was amazing and it's a really nice change I find to have some more comfort food type dishes at vegan restaurants. the fried "chicken" and waffles was the best and even my non vegan friends had a great time and really enjoyed the food. The atmosphere is also really fun, 10/10 would recommend

Pros: great food , great service , good atmosphere

Cons: a little busy at times

Never again... - Edit

Food was gross, servers were rude, and the restaurant was too hot and dirty.

We ordered the "Big Mac", which tasted like a dry sock. It was dripping fat and made me feel sick.

The Jalapeno Poppers tasted like old frying fat and the chicken fingers too.

We saw server picking food from a customer's plate after grabbing her gum out of her mouth.

I don't know why people go to this place. We have been vegan for a while now and love vegnan junk food. However, this is by far the worst place we've been in Toronto.

Pros: Design, the vegan comics were funny, The idea of a vegan fast food joint is great , Athmosphere (music too loud though)

Cons: Food wasn't good and unhealthy, Bad service, Overpriced

not all it's hyped to be - Edit

We heard the hype and wanted to try it. Our appetizers were really good, main courses were pretty bad. Music was so loud we couldn't talk and got headaches. It was in the summer and it was probably the hottest I've ever been. They didn't have take out at the point. Next time we'd get appetizers to go.

This IS the vegan junk food you've been looking for - Edit

Oh, man. Came here for my bachelorette in the summer with non-veg friends. We all left in a happy food coma. The Daddy Mac was exactly what I was looking for and the buffalo fries were outta this world. I don't think you could eat here every week and be heart healthy but it's good for a treat! Highly, highly recommended.

Pros: Delicious, Unabashed junk food, Best neighbourhood in Toronto!

average - Edit

When this location first opened, all of my friends and I were so excited to try it out!

However we found the music to be overwhelmingly loud (we're all early twenties, so that tells you something) and the atmosphere was a bit too clubby.

We got the vegan Big Macs, which were again, average, I felt the patty to everything else ratio was way too high, and it was a mouthful of unappetizing meat-like substance.

Will try again, however not anytime soon.

Pros: great service

Cons: too loud, food sub par

Wow! Vegan 'Big Mac' to DIE FOR!!! - Edit

I was taken here for my birthday and LOVED it. There is a sign behind the bar that says 'No Salads' and I appreciate that as I am real tired of the vegetarian/vegan places who only do 'bowls' or 'salads' boring!!! Doomies has created the greasy spoon for the Toronto vegan! While I could NOT eat here every day to stay fit, I am absolutely chuffed for the vegan 'Big Mac'. Brought happiness to my birthday!!! They also have their liquor license and make a wide variety of cocktails. A MUST try for both vegans and meat eaters alike! Cheers :) Randy

Delicious vegan fare! - Edit

We were only in Toronto for 2 days and decided this was a place we had to try -- and we weren't disappointed! This is not a place to be concerned about "nutrition" and "calories" -- this is all about pleasing the palate. My husband and I split a fried chicken sandwich and a philly cheesesteak. Both came with fries, which we upgraded to chili/cheese fries and buffalo wing fries with ranch dressing. Desert was a peanut butter milkshake. Everything was delicious -- stuff I'd never make at home but love to indulge in once in a while. I would consider this restaurant a place to go to "cheat" and enjoy every bite. It was a pleasure that we didn't have to ask any questions regarding the menu and what was vegan, since everything served is vegan. This is definitely a place to bring non-vegan friends to impress them that we have delicious "junk" food to enjoy, just like they do. Highly recommend and we will definitely return when we are in the area again.

Pros: really friendly staff, everything vegan, good-sized portions
