Amazing vegan restaurant

The polenta sticks with tartare sauce were great (slightly too salty for me)
The agnolotti were perfect, as was the fungazi pizza.
The apple pie was good but not on par with the other delicious courses

Pros: Great food and location

Cons: It can be hard to get a spot for dinner

Delicious

Fungazi pizza is very tasteful. Four horsemen lacked flavor. Hot shrooms starters were excellent. Mac and cheese tasted charred and resembled a bacon flavor, not a fan but other ppl at the table liked it. Atmosphere is very nice.

Pros: Delicious and filling

Cons: Very expensive

Decent but overpriced

We had the Caesar salad which did not taste like Caesar salad, the fettuccine (small portion), and the four horsemen pizza. Everything was okay but overpriced for what it was.

Pros: All vegan, Outdoor seating

Cons: Overpriced, Limited protein options

I would go back right now!

Okay so the service wasn’t great, but the food more than made up for it. We were skeptical about the gnocchi, but me and my friend and husband split three dishes, including the gnocchi, a gf pizza, and the Mac and cheese. I was in heaven! The gnocchi was actually the best thing we tried, it was so flavorful and had a great texture. Second came the Mac and cheese with a super rich Smokey flavor. That went really fast. The pizza was good, but we weren’t the biggest fans of the gluten free crust, it was made out of socca flour and tasted kind of like a pancake. But the toppings just about made up for it. Soo good! I live in MN and wish I had a chance to go back right now!!

Pros: All plant-based, Delicious food

Cons: Service was pretty bad

Great service, okay food

We went here on a Saturday evening and it was a ghost town. The service was outstanding but the food wasn’t mind-boggling. We got the ‘Rita pizza, bread and butter, and cast iron Mac and cheese. The bread and butter and the Mac and cheese were pretty good. The Mac had a smoky flavor which was nice. The pizza however wasn’t a good vegan pizza. The mozzarella tasted like nothing and the crust was very thin. You can definitely get better vegan pizza at Woodstock’s or Whole Foods.

Pros: All-vegan menu, Amazing service, Relaxing atmosphere

Cons: Food isn’t that great

Amazing restaurant

This place is simply perfect. The atmosphere is great, everybody is just so friendly and the food is amazing. I had the mac and cheese and a cheesecake. Felt like vegan heaven. It is also great that they don't use plastic straws but straws made of steel and cotton napkins.

The death of my savings account

My favorite vegan restaurant in California - Gracias Madres in SF is the only one close to it. Unbelievable quality, a simple yet inclusive menu, and pizzas / pastas that make me say, “wow..” with every bite.

My only tip/critique is the addition of the “dunk sauces” - the waitress was nice enough to share most of them are something you’d be able to whip up at home/purchase at Sprouts for the same cost & triple the quantity.

Was eating here when I lived in my car without a job, lol. That’s how good it is

Pros: Non-overwhelming menu, Quality ingredients , Chill vibez

Cons: Dunk Sauces

Seasonally appropriate, truly plant-based

Donna Jean is my favorite vegan restaurant in San Diego. I love Chef Roy’s version of vegan cooking. Everything is crafted in house including the best bread and butter I’ve ever had be that vegan or when I was not vegan. You won’t find any processed vegan bits here, I go to that stuff sometimes but truly respect that Donna Jean isn’t that. The handmade pizzas, pasta, sides, seasonal salads and brunch are so good. The ambiance is great and they can accommodate small or large groups. The vegan selection of drinks is a perfect accompaniment. The service is always some of the more kind, attentive, comforting service I’ve found in these parts. Well done!

Pros: Non-processed 100% plants and fungi!, Delicious, explorative food, Seasonally chosen, carefully developed dishes!

Flavorful

The pizza was delicious. We had the roundgarden and it was light, had a really fresh tomato sauce and had unique flavors. The Fraser salad was great too!

Mac and Cheese (ish)!!!!

Wow, the Mac and cheese was amazing!! My husband liked the pizza, but I'm not a fan of nutritional yeast flavor. Would I come again definitely! Would love to try the other offerings. And more Mac and Cheese 😋

Pros: Everything vegan

Cons: None in my book.

Great Vibe Great Food

Italian inspired but with gluten-free options galore. Ima sucker for Ceasar and order it as my top dish wherever. The Ceasar is good. The gluten-free iron-skillet Mac and cheese was amazing. Spacious room and affordable prices. I especially love their hard kombucha.

The pasta!

If you're looking for a nice pasta spot, vegan or no, this is your place. The owner is constantly experimenting and honing his pasta skills, it's all made in house.

The pizzas here are crazy good too, more representative of what you would find in Italy than typical pizza spots.

And I know it's not always possible, but try the desserts! I almost never have room but try to plan ahead lol! The Meyer lemon cake is amazing but the menu is constantly being changed for the season.
