Hit the spot

Walked over from the Dakeng hiking area in about 15 minutes to try this place. And it was totally worth it on a hot day in June. I appreciated the simplicity of the menu: every item is NT$50, and they offer sweet topping combinations to choose from. Both my mom and I got flavor combo #5 because we both love grass jelly and tapioca pearls. The mashed taro was fantastic, too. The taro and sweet potato balls were nice and chewy. My mom vouched for their grass jelly, which is a big component in my book.

My only complaint is that they don’t recycle their plastic spoons: they just toss them in the trash! If I’d known they didn’t have reusable bowls and utensils, I would’ve brought my own to cut down on the garbage.

Pros: great value, delicious, traditional dessert

Cons: only disposable bowls and utensils
