O conceito da Dona Tengarrinha é único. A base é a cozinha tradicional alentejana, com ingredientes locais e de grande qualidade, mas tudo vegano. Além disso, o restaurante oferece muitas vezes pratos da cozinha internacional.

Além dos pratos, a entrega e simpatia do staff é excecional. Sempre que vou comer à Dona Tengarrinha sinto-me especial.

+ about ten tables inside and a couple on the narrow street outside.
- I went twice. Each time the main course took 1½ - 1¾ hours to arrive.I was luckier than the couple at the next table who waited not much less to be told that their choice was no longer available. So, if you are on your own, bring a book.

Unfortunately when you came In there was 3 different events happening in Beja and we were completely overbooked and that took it's toll on the time of getting the meal to your table.

Este restaurante foi um oásis no meio do deserto, literalmente. Num dia de muito calor, fomos acolhidos super bem, como se estivéssemos em casa! A comida era excelente, o vinho da casa é bom, toda a gente experiência foi muito boa do início ao fim. Espaço com apontamentos alentejanos e é de louvar serem o único espaço 100% vegan em Beja. A repetir!

Some veg*n resistance in Alentejo 💪 - Edit
Alentejo is generally not a veg*n friendly place: local specialities are mostly meat, and vegetarian options in restaurants are scarce, if not inexistant. What a pleasure then to have discovered this place! Food is fresh and nice. It may not be a 3-star Michelin restaurant but it is surely good enough for a great lunch break! Plus the room is nice, service friendly and price low. What's more to ask?

And two cakes.
I found the soup and main courses to be 3 to 4 out of 5 "gurmet stars".
The Quiche and aubergine were a little too well-baked for my taste.
I found the chocolate cake very tasty (5 out of 5).
The other was too sweet for me.
I would find wholemeal rice and flour more filling, healthier and better than white.
I think the food was not organic.
The staff were very friendly, approachable and child friendly.

Read morePara começar, assim que entrámos, vimos na porta um dístico de permissão a animais no estabelecimento 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 e lá num cantinho esperava-nos uma estante repleta de livros, essencialmente de banda desenhada interessante, que manteve o nosso filho de 3 anos entretido quase todo o tempo que ali estivémos 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 parabéns pela SUPER IDEIA e decoração simples e acolhedora.
A sopa de abóbora foi abraçada com sementinhas e um fio de azeite que fez a combinação perfeita.
E o frango feliz??? Pudera ter esse nome tendo em conta a dose de paixão adicionada aquando a confecção, notou-se perfeitamente no palato 😍 Nossa, delicioso!!
A sobremesa selou a refeição com leve adocicado de tarte de amêndoa e bolo vegan de chocolate. Tão bom!
A cereja no topo do bolo foi o atendimento! A menina MJ teve uma atenção para connosco de se tirar o chapéu pois a preocupação dela era que ficássemos satisfeitos e, para colmatar, prontificou-se a manter o nosso filho entretido enquanto terminávamos a refeição. Muito obrigada pela amabilidade!!

Fui pela primeira vez com colegas almoçar. Fizemos reserva pois soubemos que o espaço é pequenino -e acolhedor- e faziamos mesmo questão de ir lá. Fomos muito bem recebidos pela Maria João. A comida estava boa e para sobremesa foi um bolo de chocolate delicioso. No fim a Maria João pediu-nos a opinião sincera sobre a comida porque diz que procura sempre fazer mais e melhor, é a sua missão!! Completely vegan restaurant for dine-in or takeout. The food was amazing and the owner was very nice. Has a few daily dishes and some side dishes and desserts. The small menu of completely vegan options ends up being better than most restaurants’ vegan menus anyways. Small dining area with 3 or 4 tables gives a mom-and-pop cafe vibe.

It's a tiny place in the historic old town and well worth a visit. Maria is a lovely host and told us all about the tangherrinha (golden thistle) and its use in typical Alentejana dishes. Daily specials, pies and home made seitan make it a place worth visiting.

Very cozy little restaurant where you feel like at home. Food is delicious and cooked with love. Restaurant offers daily meal and some pies and snacks, as well as juices and coffee. The chef Maria is an amazing host, she was very atentive and super friendly (speaks fluent English). For lunch we got hearty lentil soup with veggies and as a main dish an excelent chilli sem carne, the seasoning was outstanding as well as the portion. If you are visiting Beja, you must visit Maria's place.
