Nice cheap lunch - Edit
This place is a canteen style almuerzo with 4 main course options (ask if some have dairy or eggs) plus soup drink and desert for 8soles (december 2016).When I was there almost everything was vegan. Nothing fancy or gastronomic here, some really tasty courses and some less, but nice place for a cheap lunch!
Pros: Really cheap, Mostly vegan, Nice small place frequented by locals
Cons: Basic "canteen" food

Great Bargain, Comfort Food - Edit
For 8 soles, you can't go wrong here. Simple, home kitchen vibe, few tables, locals watching tv, etc. Only serves the menu of the day. Let staff know if you don't want huevos o leche. The friendly server let me know which entrees I could and couldn't have. I had the soup (ask if leche), pasta with vegetables, pumpkin with seitan, coca tea, fresh papaya, which usually comes with yogurt but the server knew to leave it out. More entrees variety for vegetarians. No restaurant sign outside, just a wipe board that says vegetarian menu, but it's the first restaurant on the right entering the alley/sidestreet, orange tables inside.
Pros: Great budget lunch

Vegetarian but vegan option - Edit
We visited here based on a recommendation from Buda Profano's owner. They are vegetarian but luckily the set lunch when we visited was vegan. So much food for 8 soles each. It was delicious. The staff was friendly. Bring someone who speaks Spanish because little English is spoken.
