Serves meat, vegan options available. Local restaurant chain offering mostly Mexican food. This outlet also makes pasta. The regular menu is meat-based but ask for the "healthy menu" which has choices of quinoa and brown rice for entrees. Could request to make the vegetarian items vegan.

Good bet - Edit
I just ate at Don Jose's for the first time in a year while living in Homer. I was refreshed by the ease of ordering vegan, the options that could be made vegan upon request, and the friendly, accepting service offered to a picky vegan in Alaska. There were ample vegetables, vegan black beans and refried beans, and chips and tortillas. There was also an potion for a vegan "choose your own" entree from the Healthy Menu, which offers quinoa, brown rice, roasted vegetables, and beans as choices. It was easy to specify "no dairy" with no mix-ups.

Pros: Good choices for the area, Friendly, helpful, accommodating service, Quinoa and brown rice on the menu
Cons: Bummer to see sizzling meat served to other tables
