I’ve been here twice now for food. The pub is so cosy, and the staff are very attentive. And the vegan options are great considering it’s not a fully vegan pub/restaurant. Plenty of options available and the food is top notch. Wish I lived closer. #Veganuary

Had 2 or 3 options, I had the sweet potato & chickpea curry and it was delicious. Very helpful staff and apparently the chef is vegan.

Read moreI had the Sunday roast with the vegan sausage option. Was incredible and I finished everything on the plate and then licked it clean. They had some decent dessert options but I was stuffed. Next time.
I believe the head chef Lucy is vegan and that shows in the quality of the food and cooking.

Vegan chef serving amazing food - Edit
So refreshing to find a pub in North Yorkshire that does vegan food so well! You can tell there is a lot of thought and effort that has gone into planning the recipes and preparing them. Staff take the time to explain the vegan alternatives and how things have been prepared. So many vegan options to select from and the presentation of the food was amazing. Staff were incredibly attentive and warm. Would 100% recommend if you have dietary requirements.
Read moreSadly a lot of pubs I’ve tried in North Yorkshire seem to do a half arsed effort on vegan food and even mentioning the word “vegan” gets peoples back up. Not here ! I felt immediately welcome and was delighted to learn that the chef herself is a vegan!

Had a really delicious celebratory meal here. The menu was extensive for a vegan, we opted for the 'build a burger' along with the vegan desserts, all were fantastic. The staff are as fabulous as the food.

I love this place - the chef herself is vegan and is trying to constantly increase the vegan range on a very conservative area. As a result the menu has lots of vegan items and also has vegan alternatives for most of the non-vegan menu items. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the establishment is dog-friendly. I love it

Amazing Sunday roast, drove an hour out of our way just on a whim they might serve a vegan roast (it's not on the menu). Couldn't be more accommodating, such friendly and attentive staff. Had a full 3 course vegan dinner. Couldn't be happier ☺️

Easily worth 5 stars but as they serve meat dishes too I’m only allowed to give 4. The vegan menu is superb! They offer options for starters, mains and deserts. The food is always amazing.
