Surprising assortment - Edit
The slightly smaller, but more central, of the town's two DM drugstores (tourists please note that no medications — not even aspirin — are available here) sells a number of organic and vegan lines. The company's own, AlVerde, comprises skin-, hair-, and body-care products (including aluminum-free deodorant) — all vegan — as well as cosmetics, which are mostly vegan (lipsticks, as of October 2017, were not; look for the "V" with leaves sprouting from its ends). Another brand, Skin Food, produces four organic, vegan sheet masks (see photo) along with creams and cleansers. Fans of the American Dr. Bronner's will be pleased to see a small selection of its liquid soaps here (also pictured).

DM does its own range of traditional German Christmas cookies and treats —cinnamon stars, tiny Linzer tarts, coconut macaroons, gingerbread made from spelt flour, spiced chocolate-covered almonds, et cetera — but these are only organic, not vegan. It also carries two chocolate-covered Christmas specialties from the German company Veganz: Lebkuchen (a kind of local gingerbread) and Kirschbomben (the former with the addition of a sour cherry filling).
On another aisle is a selection of organic baby food, about half of which appears to be vegan (i.e., made entirely from fruit and/or vegetables, with no added sugars) but is not labeled as such.
As a bonus, shoppers can sign onto free Wifi, without requiring a password.
