Lovely Eritrean Food - Edit
Like at many Eritrean and Ethiopian restaurants, about half of the menu is vegan. The shiro was amazing, it was one of the best Eritrean meals I've had. Note that it is a bit spicy if you are sensitive. The owners were very friendly as well.

Fluffy injera and lager beer with teff flour - Edit
The restaurant is authentic and the owners are really friendly. It has a history of more than 20 years alternating between Leiden/Hague/Delft. The injera served with tumtumo, shiro and duba is amazing and a good option to recover from hangover! The owner also created a special ethiopian beer with teff flour, and you can have mongozo beer served on a coconut.

Tasty food - Edit
Not so large restaurant with lots of sort-of-African decorations. Serves meat but has 9 vegan dishes. You can have a mixed plate with different stuff. All food was quite tasty, only downside it that it's all heated up in the microwave. Service is friendly. Not the most cosy place, but the food is quite OK.

De beste pindasoep! - Edit
Heerlijk gegeten. Vooraf een pindasoep die ik elke dag wel zou willen eten, zo lekker! Als hoofdgerecht hebben we de vega combi, die ook vegan is, gegeten. Superlekker.

Perfect addition in the neighbourhood - Edit
Djebena is a restaurant like few other restaurants in the Hague. It's perfect for casual and social dining.
Read moreDishes are served on a huge tray with injera and the food is easily shared together. Sharing a meal for me is the best form of eating out together.
The fact that food is not eaten with utensils but with your hands, just grab a piece of injera and pick up your food with the injera, encourages you to eat more slowly and with attention.
The food is very flavourful and a midly spicy. I would recommend the vegetarian mix which countains a selection of 5 or 6 vegetarian dishes.
The vegetarian main dishes are also vegan and the owner told us more vegan dishes are coming.
Pros: Casual and friendly atmosphere, Flavourful food, Good value for money
Cons: No vegan desserts
