It’s ok

I ordered a hotdog and a bratwurst. They both kind of tasted the same. Didn’t have a hotdog or bratwurst flavor but they weren’t bad. I loved the variety, I actually wanted one of everything. The atmosphere was fun.

Pros: Lots of vegan options , Affordable

Cons: lacking taste

Creative Toppings Worthy of a Better Vegan Dog

Very friendly, character filled place with so many options. The choice of Tofurkey dogs is disappointing. So many better options available now that this key flaw will keep the revisit a bit further down the road. The hotdogs also didn't sit well a couple of hours after finishing the meal.

Pros: Many options, Tasty sides.

Cons: Tofurkey dogs.

Vegan Dogs?!

I truly enjoy this place. It's best though, late night after a few drinks lol. Situated downtown and between a couple of great bars, it's an awesome spot for a greasy bite. A ton of their dogs can be veganized and their tots on the side are a nice add on.

Their wait time can be lengthy in the evening and on the weekend. They're also pretty crammed in there. I wouldn't come with more than 6 people, or honestly any kids at all.

Pros: Veganized

Cons: Crammed

Vegan Hot Dogs!

This is a super cool spot, almost any dog can be made vegan. The vegan options are clearly labeled on the menu. I have had many good experiences here and one bad one, where the hot dog came out frozen. Overall I recommend.

so,so

Went on a rainy Saturday night and they were packed. The place is small. I think there was two servers co wrong the floor. The servers were absolutely nice!! Dirty nachos not the best. I liked the chips.....we felt rushed to order so we kind of winged it. My hubby did not like his. I liked mine, however, it was so small....I was actually wondering if late night slice next door had a vegan pizza😂😂

Pros: cheap

Cons: not relaxing at all

so much love

I visited while in Columbus for a conference. I absolutely loved it. It's a perfect little dive bar/hot dog joint and I'd go at least once a week if I lived in Ohio. There are a ton of vegan choices, but I highly recommend trying the fried leeks with whatever dog you get.

Not Bad!

I had high expectations after looking at the menu, but I wasn't too impressed. Don't get me wrong, the food was good. But I prefer Light Life or Field Roast hot dogs over Tofurkey which is what is used here. I also noticed that there was a vegan cream cheese available for one of their specialty dogs, but there was no vegan cheddar option. Kind of disappointing but it's a great spot for vegans!

Pros: Decor , Fast Service

Cons: Sub par dogs , No vegan cheese option

Love this place!

Menu makes it very clear what is vegan/vegetarian and I would say more than half of the stuff on there has a veganized option! The Tofurkey dogs are so good that my non-veg boyfriend orders them.

Good quick eats

Was able to get veggie chili tots on a short layover while on a bus journey east. Hit the spot for what I needed at the time.

Great fast casual joint!

A small restaurant that specializes in signature hotdogs. Lots of vegan options! Besides the hotdogs, they offer a vegan chili, amazing fried leeks, and fries. This is a fun place to go with friends!

Pros: Lots of vegan options , Inexpensive

Great late night eats

If you like greasy fries and vegan hot dogs, this is your place. Awesome vibes and good food. Often surprisingly quiet on some nights; I've had some good conversations in this bar. Very similar to Cleveland's "Happy Dog."

Pros: vegan hot dogs!, open late, good location

Cons: not much food other than hot dogs

Hot dog! It's been awhile

I can't tell you the last time I ate a hot dog. I wasn't a big fan as a kid, and being lacto-ovo and then vegan, it wasn't really a craving. I found two of us needing a quick meal on a Friday evening when leaving The Book Loft in German Village. Thankfully we got right in despite the place being otherwise packed. We ate at the bar. It was delightful to have more than two or three things I wanted to eat on the menu. I got the vegan dog with salsa and fritos. When I'm in Columbus again, I think I'll get one with the vegan cream cheeze. The tater tots were good (a LOT of them!), and the service was incredibly fast. We still had 8 minutes of the original 40 left on the meter when we got back to my car.

Pros: Soooo many vegan options, Super-fast service, Close to The Book Loft

Cons: Limited seating options during peak times

Loved it

Creative weird hot dog place with so many vegan options it was hard to decide. I got the picnic table dog with fries and loved it. My husband got two of the vegan bratwurst and tater tots and has been talking about them for MONTHS (we went in October). The staff was very nice and knowledgeable. If we lived nearby we would be regulars for sure.

Pros: lots of vegan options, creative hot dogs

Cons: serves meat

Great vegan options, knowledgeable staff

Everything that's vegan is marked on the menu, and most veg options can be made vegan with a minor alteration. The staff is really knowledgeable, as well, so don't hesitate to ask.

Plan to wait for a table. This place is always packed full.

The vegan hot dogs here are great. Try something new.

Pros: Knowledgeable staff, Clear markings on menu

Cons: Serves meat

Local Flair

There's something whimsical about this place. With the bar and the music, a punk vibe, it wouldn't seem like the kind of place that would cater to vegetarians. But they do. They have several types of tofu wieners to choose from (regular, veggie brats, veggie Polish sausage), and a menu full of different topping combos that could go on them. The menu is clearly labelled as to which dishes can be made vegetarian and/or vegan. You can get your veggie dog on a bun, gluten-free wrap, or lettuce wrap, or chopped into a bowl of baked beans or mac and cheese. They also have sides like french fries and onion rings...or steamed brocolli. I would not categorize the food as healthy, but it is on the healthier side of "fast food", and good when you have a craving for that kind of comfort food. Same owners as Betty's in Columbus- these folks spearhead a lot of green business initiatives. My only complaint is that it is a small restaurant/ bar and there is usually a wait, at least when we've gone between the 7pm-9pm hours.

Pros: veggie , fun environment, good value

Cons: definitely not health food, wait to get in, can get noisy
