Costs A Fore-tune, But Not Under-Par - Edit
Pub games and the thwack of golf balls abound in this energetic, yet inviting and welcoming venue. And while fun and revelry are definitely at the heart of the experience here, there are also some serious eats to be had.
Read moreKey to this triumphant fayre was the fact that this is yet another establishment that has embraced the UAE’s outstanding, homegrown plant-based meat alternative brand, Switch, and they have curated a set of dishes that showcase it superbly.
Undoubtedly, the best of the excellent array that I had was the nachos. Having been subjected to countless sad, limp iterations of this Mexican classic, I was dubious as to how this offering would fare, but I needn’t have worried. This towering version (a portion even I deemed large) came laden with ample delicious toppings and, overall, seriously impressed.
Not to be outdone in terms of flavour, the beef melt was another roaring success. Though nowhere near as sizeable as I had hoped, it was definitely noteworthy.
As for the sliders, these too more than delivered in terms of taste and texture, though having to omit the honey mustard sauce meant that they were missing that final something that would have rounded them off completely.
The only slight caveat with all this wonderfulness is the price—I did wince slightly when it came time to pay.
That being said, given the standard of the food, coupled with the amenities on offer, this is a very worthwhile location to visit. I for one will be making the return trip sooner rather than later.
