Well at least there were options - Edit
On la isla for the day and stopped for an early dinner. They opened a few minutes late and we sat right away on the water. They said they have a daily vegetarian option - today it was three cheese spinach lasagna so couldn't be made vegan.
Read moreWe shared a hummus appetizer with warm fresh pita and veggies. I got a house salad, which was arugula and veggies with guava vinaigrette. The dressing was petty bland. I also got a side of bean salad, which I put on my arugula.
There are very few options here, or anywhere in PR for that matter. So I'm happy to have an option but it isn't something I'm going to dream about!

Tostones are NOT prepared vegan - Edit
This restaurant is in a beautiful location, we sat waterfront and saw lots of tarpon. The waitress who took my order was not very knowledgeable so I went off prior reviews. Got the hummus platter, three bean salad and tostones. The sauce that came with the tostones was clearly not vegan so I asked the waitress who brought them out if they had a vegan sauce. She then informed me that the tostones are covered in butter so I didn’t eat them. Luckily the rest of the food was filling enough. Be warned it is super garlicky!

Some tolerable options - Edit
They have a few make your own vegan options here but they’re not the best (rice, beans, tostones, French fries, hummus plate). They had at least one vegetarian potentially vegan option listed when I was there but they said they ran out by the time we were seated (~7:30/8) so be forewarned to show up early if you want to be guaranteed more than the sides for dinner.

Server was very knowledgeable and chef was super accommodating. We had the hummus plate to start, and then the chef made us a vegan platter with rice, salad, a three-bean salad and tostones on the side. Setting is great too!

Few vegan options but the food was great. Nice atmosphere. Right on the water. They offered me a veggie and hummus wrap that was amazing. A few of the sides were vegan too.
