Great options but watch out for the ice cream.

Dim t has some absolutely delicious vegan options on the menu that is really quite impressive. However, a word of warning, the vegan pudding is a chocolate torte with vegan ice cream. Whilst this is a fab option and very tasty, on my last two occasions, I have been served with dairy vanilla ice cream instead. Despite checking several times that it was vegan. Really dangerous if you have an allergy to dairy and makes me nervous about broader processes used. I complained to head office the first time it happened and they sent me a voucher and an apology and said they would speak to the management. 3 months later and the exact same thing happened suggesting nothing has changed. Really disappointing.

Pros: Great choices

Cons: Check the vegan ice cream is vegan

Amazing dim sum, labelled vegan wine!

We’ve gone about 4 times now and have been so happy every visit! Excellent vegan options for both dim sum and mains, and the wines are labelled which are vegan! Great atmosphere as well.

Yummy!

Delicious vegan options — the vegan black bean chicken is my fave. The chicken bao buns, dim sum and korean chicken are also amazing. Never disappoints!

Tasty plant based chicken dishes

We visited DimT for the first time in Dec 2022 and we were impressed. Nice vibe inside, friendly staff and a quick service.

My husband and I shared the plant-based ‘chicken’ bao buns which were nice. For mains, he had the Sweet and Sour ‘Chicken’ and I had the ‘Chicken’ in black bean sauce with rice .

The portion sizes were good! We really enjoyed the plant based chicken. We will be revisiting again in the near future. I do agree with another review that it’s missing a vegan curry dish, their katsu curry is vegetarian. Yet to try their dessert.

Good vegan asian fusion food

First time visiting this brand new restaurant in Loughton and it is a great location. Great vibe inside and friendly staff who were attentive and helpful. Food was well labelled and menu has a dedicated vegan section (note - it is plant based, the katsu curry is veggie not vegan).

I ordered the vegan chick'n bao buns, firecracker cauliflower and vegan black bean chick'n. Bao buns were tasty, good portion size, excellent vegan chick'n, however the 'spicy Korean sauce' seemed to just be sriracha mayo. Firecracker cauliflower which was ok, cauliflower was cooked well but was not spicy at all. Black bean chick'n dish was simple but tasty, vegan chick'n worked well, would be nice to have a tofu option though.

One dedicated vegan dessert (sorbet also available) but didn't try this time.

Overall, a good experience at Dim T, Loughton. There is still room for improvement and I think they could expand on their vegan options to include more noodle and curry dishes (would love to see a tofu green curry!).

Pros: Vegan options clearly labelled, Friendly staff, Tasty food

Cons: Limited variety of options (vegan curry needed)

I agree, they need a vegan katsu curry dish ! I was disappointed when I realised there was only a vegetarian version.
