Quan Chay Dieu Tam is a small vegan buffet-style com binh dan restaurant run by a Buddhist family. Serves a mixture of salad, vegetable, tofu, soup, and mock meat dishes with a choice of white or brown rice with black beans, plus tea. The number of dishes can vary day to day, but generally the busier it is the larger the range of dishes that are available. Recommended to arrive before 1:30pm. Open Mon-Sun 10:30am-3:00pm.

Delicious and good price - Edit

I like to eat here. Delicious vegan foods and very cheap at VND30.000 for buffet. And ice tea free.

Very affordable and worth it - Edit

The vegan buffet spread has a selection of vegetables and mock meat. I would recommend going for the veggies and not the mock meat as the latter were salty and oily (for the fried ones).
I could eat here twice a week but definitely not everyday as you get almost the same spread daily.
IMO, the food here is yummier than Loving Hut and is much, much cheaper.

Will definitely visit soon.

Pros: Affordable, Delicious cooking, Comfortable and airy environment

Cons: Mock meat were salty and unhealthy

Great food, beautiful people. - Edit

The food is fresh and really cheap. Unlimited buffet for 30k...you cannot argue with that. The ladies that work there are absolutely lovely and have always made me feel welcome with my Tupperware when I pop in and grab some food on the way to work. Definitely a place that deserves our support. Can be a wee tricky to find at first as they are a small doorway but hunt them out. Well worth it.

Pros: Everything!

Cons: Nothing!

Vegan Heaven! - Edit

This is not one of those vegetarian restaurants that seems to jack up the prices just because the food's made from plants, and served in such small portions you leave hungry...

It's the opposite! In fact it's hard to understand how they even stay in business it's so cheap! Yes, only 30,000 dong for all-you-can-eat buffet. They have a big variety, with some regular items and some rotating dishes. It's all so delicious too. I especially like the wheat gluten with coconut slices... getting hungry just thinking about it! They also have white or brown/mixed rice, which seems pretty uncommon, but it's nice to have the healthier option. Nice folks and a friendly atmosphere too. Mix of locals and a lot of foreigners too.

Pros: cheap, delicious, healthy

Cons: none!

Delicious and cheap - Edit

After taking a little while to find this place along the lake front, we helped ourself to a vegan buffet that was pretty delicious, if nothing fancy. Some delicious mock meat and tofu dishes, a typical cơm chay buffet-style. Price very cheap at VND30K for all you can eat. The business is clearly marked as vegan at the entrance.

why do they close on Sundays!? - Edit

Love this place, I eat here every day I can. Food changes everyday, super cheap (30,000 for buffet) vegan options and free iced tea. All good made visibly in the clean kitchen. Staff are so nice and welcoming. Only neg is they are closed on Sundays! I am sure they'd also have wifi if you asked.

Pros: cheap, great staff, clean

Cons: CLOSED ON SUNDAY!

Vegan Buffet - Edit

Came here for lunch today 9th May 2016. This place has limited seating.Limited buffet style 30,000d ($1.40).Limited in the meaning of what is available at the markets and supermarkets, these buffet style places feed us khol rabi, white radish, carrots, morning glory and sometimes green beans, at the markets I see brocolli, cauliflower, egg plants, courgettes and various pulses (can be sprouted), nuts, quinoa etc we need protein!)
Was pleasant dining and seemed frequented by expat westerners.

Pros: good value, help yourself buffet

Cons: needs more protein dishes

joel.westerlund 15 May 2016 - 30 000 VND is not 4.50 in any type of dollar. Typo? It's more like 1.4/1.9 USD/AUD. :) I can confirm that it's 30 000 VND. Very nice place!

veganvirtues 15 May 2016 - Sorry an error in converting have ammended that thanxs. Now I made more comment as a health and ethical vegan on what these 'buffet style' places offer and really don't know about protein, carbs dishes not only just vitamins and minerals which have had the bejesus boiled out of them and tossed in msg or savoury salts.

Great place - Edit

Only been here once so far - I felt very welcome! After eating for a while a woman very politely informed me (in english) that there was water behind me and that it was free. Since it's a buffet you don't have to wait to eat, the drawback being that some things are not warm if that's your thing .. when it's +30C outside I don't mind. :D
Delicious flavour, nice selection even though I was late (around 14:10 or so), 30.000 VND feels like a steal.

Pros: Great value, Friendly staff, Good selection

veganvirtues 17 May 2016 - I found when I asked something English the staff were unable to understand me. Maybe that person 'who informed you' (in English) about water, must have been off! They get a westerner to translate what I was asking, something about Happy Cow.org. As I said delicious flavours probably came from Vidan or Knorr. 30,000d is a steal, luke warm and highly seasoned salty. Lacked protein.

joel.westerlund 17 May 2016 - Maybe she only knew a few words - but that's ok. This is Vietnam, we should be walking around with translation/-books or something really. I consider it very kind every time someone just tries to assist me in english. :D (and I'm sure you do too)
Regarding the food - as vebao's more detailed review states it varies day to day. I've been there twice now and there's been loads and loads of tofu (like 3-4 tofu dishes and plenty of it) - maybe you've had bad luck with timing? Also, nuts and beans usually mixed in stuff. The two times I was there I think the only thing that remained the same was the white rice.

Quan Chay Dieu Tam - Edit

It's quickly become my favorite place to eat in Hanoi, due to the warmth and generosity of the family that run it, the variety of dishes which change daily as well as the price.

It's a small buffet style com binh dan restaurant that has been open for around 4 months)as of March 2016) which is run by a Buddhist family. They serve a mixture of salad, vegetable, tofu, soups and mock meat dishes and you also have the choice between white and brown rice with black beans. It's only 30,000vnd per person (including tea) and for this price I think the food is excellent, and I've everyone I've ever taken to eat there (both vegan and non vegan) have enjoyed the food.

The number of dishes can vary day to day, but generally the busier it is the larger the range of dishes that are available. I'd recommend arriving before 12:30pm but they usually stay open until sometime between 2:30 - 3pm

There are signs in Vietnamese and one in English in front of the restaurant but as it's such a small place It can still be quite difficult to see from the road, especially as there are sometimes a lot of bikes parked out in front.

Pros: Relaxing atmosphere, Eat as much as you like , Delicious dishes, change daily
